As you embark on The Closed Door main quest in Legend Of Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom, you’ll need to seek out and conquer three shrines on Great Sky Island – one of which is the Gutanbac Shrine.

Once you enter the Gutanbac Shrine, you’ll gain access to the Ascend ability, which allows you to move upward through solid material and emerge on top of it.

Upon successfully completing the Gutanbac Shrine, a Light of Blessing will be awarded to you, which is necessary to unlock and enter the Temple of Time.

Thus, this Legend Of Zelda ToTK guide will help you locate and complete the puzzle within the Gutanbac Shrine for you to claim your reward in the adventure video game developed by Nintendo.

Where To Find The Tears Of The Kingdom Gutanbac Shrine

The Gutanbac Shrine is located in the eastern region of the Great Sky Island, at the top of the frosty mountains. The precise location of the shrine is indicated on the map below.

To reach this location from the In-sha Shrine we already completed, you must go through several caves, such as Pondside Cave, Mining Cave, Pit Cave, and Bottomless Cave.

After you exit the Bottomless Cave on the other side, climb the giant roots on the right all the way to the top to reach the Gutanbac Shrine entrance.

After reaching the designated location, we can explore the steps to complete the Gutanbac Shrine in Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

How To Complete The Legend Of Zelda Gutanbac Shrine Puzzle

Upon entering the Gutanbac Shrine, Rauru will show himself again and offer another upgrade to your right hand.

You’ll unlock the Ascend ability, which allows you to travel through what’s directly above you, ascending through it and emerging on top of it.

To begin completing Gutanbac Shrine, hold (L) and select the Ascend Ability from the Ability Wheel using the right stick.

Then, position yourself under the ledge above and press (A) to ascend and emerge on top of it.

In this new section of the shrine, you’ll see a cube/block and a pillar attached to the wall on the right.

First, ascend through the block to find and open a treasure chest containing a Stone Axe. We will need it in the next part of the puzzle.

After that, drop down and ascend through the pillar to emerge on top of it, where a Soldier Construct will be waiting for you. This should be an easy fight.

Now, equip the Stone Axe you’ve previously acquired and destroy the two wooden crates located inside the right wall.

Then, go inside this gap in the wall and use the Ascend ability to move upward through the wall and reach another treasure chest containing a Construct Bow.

After you collect your prize, drop down and cut the two ropes to lower the bridge.

Unfortunately, there is no ladder to reach and cross this bridge, which means you’ll have to use the Ascend Ability. Go beneath the bridge and ascend through it.

For the final part of the puzzle, you’ll see a green moving platform and a static one above it.

Ascend through the green moving platform first, wait for it to travel under the static platform, and prepare to ascend through this one as well.

In order to complete the Gutanbac Shrine in Legend Of Zelda ToTK, you must examine the green symbol. As a reward, you will be given a Light of Blessing, which we will use to open the Temple of Time during The Closed Door main quest.

To open the locked door at the back of the Temple of Time, you’ll have to complete one more shrine, known as the Nachoyah Shrine.
