NieR Replicant Fisherman’s Gambit Part 5: How To Get Black Bass

Black Bass is a NieR Replicant fish type and also a quest item needed to complete The Fisherman’s Gambit Part 5 side quest included in Part One of the video game published by Square Enix.

NieR Replicant Fisherman’s Gambit Part 5 is the fifth part of the questline that turns you into a master fisherman, and it follows the same structure as Fisherman’s Gambit, but instead of Sardines, you’ll need to catch Black Bass.

Furthermore, this is the last quest in the first part, the rest becoming available in Part Two.

So, to improve your NieR Replicant fishing skill, you’ll have to complete all quests in The Fisherman’s Gambit chain of side quests, and your fifth goal is to land 5 Black Bass.

Because of this, below we will discuss the Black Bass in NieR Replicant since this fish is your objective for The Fisherman’s Gambit Part 5 side quest.

NieR Replicant Fisherman’s Gambit Part 5 Quest Details

NieR Replicant Fisherman’s Gambit Part 5 becomes available in Seafront after you complete the previous part.

As you may remember, you can approach all these quests after you save the Prince of Facade.

The quest giver is, again, the old man by the dock who becomes quite annoying.

Talk to him immediately after Fisherman’s Gambit Part 4, and he’ll ask you to catch some Black Bass. Again you have to land 5 of them.

Best Black Bass Bait

Just like when you went for the Rainbow Trout; for the NieR Replicant Black Bass, you don’t have to buy bait.

For this type of fish, you will use the normal Lure obtained when you went after the Shaman Fish during the game’s story.

And you’ll use it again to fish 5 Black Bass.

However, this time around, you’ll need to move to a different area.

Remaster Black Bass Location

After you start the quest, exit Seafront and head towards Southern Plains.

Cross the Southern Plains, and you’ll enter your Village.

Again, cross the Shopping District and head right when you exit.

The fishing spot is the large lake behind the Shopping District.

How To Fish

To catch this type of bass in NieR Replicant, you will use the same fishing technique as before:

• While standing near the fishing spot, press O on your PlayStation controller
• Select the type of bait. For this fish, use the Lure
• Once you cast your line, wait for the fish to bite, then press O again
• Move your left thumbstick in the direction opposite the fish’s current position to deplete its health bar (blue)
• When the health bar is fully depleted you’ll land the fish

Keep in mind that the bass will put up a fight, and it will take some time to land it.

Once you get five Black Bass, return to the quest giver, and in return, you won’t get any rewards, but you will do some training and unlock the next quest in line, but to play it, you’ll have to reach Part Two in the game.
