Bream is a NieR Replicant fish type and also a quest item needed to complete The Fisherman’s Gambit Part 4 side quest featured in Part One of the video game published by Square Enix.
NieR Replicant Fisherman’s Gambit Part 4 is the fourth part of the questline that will turn you into a master fisherman, and it follows the same structure as Fisherman’s Gambit, but instead of Sardines, you’ll need to catch Bream.
So, to improve your NieR Replicant fishing skill, you’ll have to complete all quests in The Fisherman’s Gambit chain of side quests, and your fourth goal is to land 5 Breams.
As such, below we will discuss the Bream in NieR Replicant since they represent your goal for The Fisherman’s Gambit Part 4 side quest.
NieR Replicant Fisherman’s Gambit Part 4 Quest Details
NieR Replicant Fisherman’s Gambit Part 4, just like Part 2, is a side quest that becomes available in Seafront after you complete the previous part.
You can approach all these quests after you save the Prince of Facade.
The quest giver is (as usual) the old man by the dock.
Talk to him immediately after the previous quest, and he’ll ask you to catch some Bream. 5 of them.
Best Bream Bait
Just like when you went for the Rainbow Trout; for the NieR Replicant Bream, you don’t have to buy bait because you already have it.
For this type of fish, you will use the normal Lure, which is used to catch the Shaman Fish during the game’s story.
And you’ll use it again to fish 5 Breams.
On top of this, you don’t even have to walk at all because you already are at the fishing spot.
Remaster Bream Location
After you start the quest, all you have to do is to go by the beach on the right side of the quest-giver.
Obviously, you can try fishing while standing on the pier or even try to fish on the beach near the lighthouse.
But why bother when you can move several steps from your current location, as you can see below.
How To Fish
Again, to catch Bream in NieR Replicant, you will use the same fishing technique as before:
- While standing near the fishing spot, press O on your PlayStation controller
- Select the type of bait. For Breams, use the normal Lure
- Once you cast your line, wait for the fish to bite, then press O again
- Move your left thumbstick in the direction opposite the fish’s current position to deplete its health bar (blue)
- When the health bar is fully depleted you’ll land the fish
Keep in mind, though, that the Breams are quite large, and they’ll fight a bit.
Once you get five Bream, return to the quest giver, and in return, you won’t get any rewards, but you will do some training and unlock the next quest in line. This time you’ll need to catch 5 Black Bass.
