NieR Replicant Old-Fashioned Home Cooking is a quest in which you are asked to collect ten pieces of Mutton for a woman in your village.
Old-Fashioned Home Cooking is also one of the first NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 quests you can complete, but unlike Book Smarts, for example, it is a bit longer.
The NieR Replicant 2021 Old-Fashioned Home Cooking quest is, luckily for us, quite straightforward, but in the guide below, I’ll also tell you how to get ten pieces of Mutton faster and even farm this Raw Material.
NieR Replicant Old-Fashioned Home Cooking Quest Walkthrough
The Old-Fashioned Home Cooking quest becomes available after you find the Grimoire Weiss and after you talk to Popola and Devola.
Now, keep in mind that the side-quests in the video game published by Square Enix have time frames, so make sure you complete this before advancing through the story too much.
Specifically before you talk to Popola after you return from the Manor.
Once you find Yonah and Grimoire Weiss, head back to the Shopping District and when you enter, turn right to spot a fountain. It is opposed to the Shopkeeper from The Lost Eggs quest.
Nearby you’ll find the fine lady in my picture below. She’s sitting on a bench.
Talk to her, and she’ll tell you that her kids eat a lot of Mutton, which makes sense since there is no McDonald’s in Nier Replicant.
Good, so your job is to get 10 pieces of Mutton.
Where To Find Ten Pieces Of Mutton
To get Mutton in NieR Replicant 2021, you’ll need to kill sheep. A lot of sheep.
These are easy to find in Northern Plains, so from your current location, head north through the large stone gate.
In the next area, look around, and you’ll find the poor animals you need to slaughter. Since these critters are defenseless, killing them is not a problem; however, the drop rate is quite small.
This means that you’ll need to kill more than 10 sheep to get ten Mutton.
Furthermore, keep in mind that in this area, you’ll also find goats; but they won’t drop Mutton. So stick to the sheep as those in my image below.
Now, if you want to check how much Mutton you have collected, simply go to Options, then select Grimoire Weiss, and then go to the Items tab.
Finally, select Raw Materials, and you’ll see the amount of Mutton you have.
Assuming you run out of sheep in this area, just return to the Village and then go back to Northern Plains. The animals will respawn.
Last but not least, you’ll also get Wool from Sheep, so make sure you save at least 10 units for The New Merchant In Town side-quest.
How To Farm Mutton
Finally, since the NieR Replicant Old-Fashioned Home Cooking is replayable, you may want to learn how to farm Mutton. Or how to get it faster.
The first requirement here is the complete Boar Hunt quest and learning how to ride.
Once you do that, exit the Village, and you’ll find a Boar waiting for you.
Mount the beast while standing close to it; then use the Boar’s charge attack to kill every single sheep instantly. Then, simply collect the Mutton and return to the old woman by the fountain.
For completing the NieR Replicant Remaster Old-Fashioned Home Cooking quest, you’ll receive 1500 Gold every single time, so just by repeating this quest, you can become pretty rich; however, you may also want to save 5 Mutton for The Runaway Son quest.
