In the captivating universe of Palworld, you will come across Pals, the game’s unique creatures. These Pals can be collected, trained, and even hatched from Eggs. The Egg Incubator is the primary mechanism through which you can hatch Eggs, transforming them into fully-fledged Pals. But before you can start hatching, let’s make sure you unlock the Egg Incubator first.
How To Build an Egg Incubator in Palworld
Step 1: Unlocking the Egg Incubator
The Egg Incubator is a piece of Ancient Technology that you can unlock once you reach Level 7. Unlike other blueprints, unlocking the Egg Incubator requires Ancient Technology Points, which are more challenging to obtain than standard technology points.
The first step to unlocking the Egg Incubator is to defeat Syndicate Tower bosses. As you complete these towers, you’ll be rewarded with Ancient Technology Points. The first bosses you will encounter are Zoe and Grizzbolt in the Tower of the Rayne Syndicate as part of the Tutorial.
Once you’ve defeated them, you will be awarded Ancient Technology Points that you can spend in the Technology menu to unlock the Egg Incubator blueprint.
Step 2: Crafting the Egg Incubator
Once you’ve unlocked the blueprint, it’s time to gather the materials required to craft the Egg Incubator. The materials needed include:
- 10 Paldium Fragment – a common material that can be mined from the small blue ore deposits near the water or grass fields.
- 5 Cloth – a common material that can be made at any workbench using Wool.
- 30 Stones – a common material gathered by mining Stone Ores or Stone Pits.
- 2 Ancient Civilization Parts – a rare material that can be obtained by defeating Alpha Pals or dungeon bosses.
After you’ve gathered these materials, open the Build menu, navigate to the Pal section, and select the Egg Incubator to craft it.
Where To Find Eggs in Palworld
There are actually two ways to obtain Pal Eggs in Palworld: finding them scattered across the map or getting them through breeding. When exploring the wilderness, look for these special Eggs, especially near rocky outcrops or cliffs. They’re larger than your average chicken egg, often found on nests, and have multiple colors.
If you’re looking for a more organized way to obtain Eggs, you might want to consider breeding Pals. To get started, you’ll need to reach Level 19 and unlock the Breeding Farm. Once you have that, all you need to do is place two Pals of different genders on the farm, add some cake, and patiently wait for the eggs to appear.
Palworld Egg Types
There are several types of Eggs in Palworld, each corresponding to a different type of Pal. The following Eggs have a chance to hatch into these Pals:
- Common Egg – Neutral-type Pals.
- Damp Egg – Water-type Pals.
- Rocky Egg – Ground-type Pals.
- Electric Egg – Electric-type Pals.
- Dragon Egg – Dragon-type Pals.
- Scorching Egg – Fire-type Pals.
- Frozen Egg – Ice-type Pals.
- Verdant Egg – Grass-type Pals.
- Dark Egg – Dark-type Pals.
How to Hatch Eggs using the Egg Incubator
To hatch an egg in Palworld, place it in the Egg Incubator. A timer will appear, indicating how long you’ll have to wait until the egg hatches. The time depends on the egg’s type and rarity. Once the timer reaches zero, hold the corresponding button to hatch your new Pal.
The time it takes to hatch an egg can be decreased by fulfilling any additional requirements an egg might have, like keeping it warm or cool. If you meet these requirements, the incubation speed will increase, reducing the hatching time.
Also, the temperature around the Incubator can affect how quickly an egg hatches. If you have your Incubator outside and it’s nighttime, the egg might get cold. To make sure your eggs stay warm, try building a Heater. On the other hand, if an egg needs cooler temperatures, you could build a Cooler instead.
Furthermore, hatching eggs is an excellent way to acquire rare Pals early in the game. The bigger the egg, the more likely you are to hatch a rare Pal. Keep in mind that the rarer eggs might have specific requirements for hatching, like needing a warmer or cooler climate.
