Amber is another Valheim item you’ll find quite often the moment you start playing the video game developed by Iron Gate, but unlike other items we already covered, the Valheim Amber is not a Crafting Material but a Valuable.
This means that the Amber in Valheim can’t be used to craft or build structures, but as a trading good, you can use it in order to get Coins, in case you don’t want to use the infinite money cheat.
Regardless, below I’ll tell you everything you need to know about Amber, such as where to find it, how to use it, and obviously how to farm it in case you need infinite Amber in Valheim.
Valheim Amber Locations
Similar to, let’s say, Rubies, Amber is considered a precious item; as such, even though it’s not rare, it can be found in areas that are a bit dangerous.
If you’re looking for Amber, your best chance is to explore specific dungeons.
As such, start by fully exploring Stone Graves and Viking Graveyards in the Meadows Biome.
They are quite accessible, and you can find them easily.
Once you improve your equipment, focus on the Burial Chambers in the Black Forest Biome. These are also accessible dungeons.
Finally, after you get the Swamp Key by defeating the second boss or The Elder, you’ll want to focus on the Sunken Crypts, such as the one below.
Keep in mind, though, that you’ll need a pickaxe to mine the Muddy Scrap Piles that will block your path inside.
How To Farm Amber
Now, assuming you want a lot of Valheim Amber fast, without having to do any legwork, you have the option to farm it using a specific Valheim Cheat or console command.
Here is what you need to do to get infinite Amber in Valheim:
- Press F5 to bring up the console
- Now type imacheater to activate Cheat Mode
- Next, type spawn Amber and a single Amber will appear in front of you on the ground
- Alternatively, you can type spawn Amber 50, and in this case, 50 Ambers will be awarded instantly, as you see in my screenshot below
How To Use The Amber
Since this item can’t be used in crafting, if you want to get rid of it, you’ll have to trade it, and here things get a bit more complicated because you’ll need to find Haldor.
Without going into details, Haldor is a trader or a merchant that spawns randomly, usually in the Black Forest Biome.
When you find him, you can trade every Amber for 5 Coins.
If by any chance, you want to speed up the process, you can also force him to spawn using the spawn Haldor console command. Obviously, after you activate the Cheat Mode.
In the image below, you can see that Haldor can spawn anywhere if you use the said cheat.
