Valheim Ancient Bark: How To Get, Spawn Id, Location & Farming Guide

Ancient Bark is a Valheim Crafting Material used to create some impressive weapons, as well as Longships and Bonfires in the video game developed by Iron Gate.

Unlike Fine Wood, for example, the Valheim Ancient Bark requires your presence in the Swamp Biome, where you’ll have the chance to find Ancient Trees; however, there are other locations where you can find it.

So, if you want to know how to get Ancient Bark in Valheim, how to farm it, or what is this material’s Spawn Id, below you will find answers to all these questions.

How To Use The Valheim Ancient Bark

This material usage ranges from weapons to watercraft, so as you can guess, you’ll need to do a lot of tree chopping if you want to stockpile this material.

Or, you can use the Ancient Bark Spawn Id to get unlimited amounts. But we’ll cover this further below.

For now, here is the full list of weapons and structures that require this material:

• Ancient Bark Spear
• Battleaxe
• Draugr Fang
• Fang Spear
• Frostner
• Iron Sledge

Where To Find Ancient Barks

This crafting material can be found exclusively in the Swamp Biome; however, there are two types of areas you’ll have to focus on, and they require specific tools.

Chopping Ancient Trees

The fastest way to get Ancient Barks in Valheim is by chopping Ancient Trees in the Swamp.

You can see what an Ancient Tree looks like in my screenshot below.

Basically, these are common trees, but they grow only in the Swamp.

To be able to cut an Ancient Tree, though, you’ll need a Bronze Axe, which means that you’ll need to learn how to mine Tin and where to get Copper.

Using the Valheim Smelter, you have to use the Tin Bars and Copper Bars to get Bronze Bars that are required for the said Axe.

Finally, get to the Swamp and look for Ancient Trees that grow everywhere.

Explore Sunken Crypts

Alternatively, you can also find bark inside the Sunken Crypts chests; however, since these are quite rare, the amount will be smaller.

Additionally, you won’t be able to enter the Sunken Crypts (pictured below) unless you defeat the Elder and acquire the Swamp Key.

Once you do that, you’ll use that specific key to get inside the Swamp Crypts.

Don’t forget, though, that you’ll have to mine a lot of Muddy Scrap Piles to fully explore these dungeons.

So these are the two legit methods to get Ancient Bark in Valheim, but you also have the option to farm this material using a Console Command.

Ancient Bark Spawn Id Farming Cheat

If you wish to farm this crafting material in Valheim, you’ll obviously need to know this material’s Spawn Id, which by the way, is ElderBark.

This Id allows you to spawn an unlimited number of Ancient Barks in the video game. Anywhere on the map.

To use it, just follow these steps:

• Press F5 to bring up the game’s console
• Next, type imacheater to activate the Valheim Cheat Mode
• Finally, type spawn ElderBark X, where X represents the number of Ancient Barks you wish to get. For example, spawn ElderBark 50 spawns 50 units
