Anvils is a Valheim Forge improvement, which allows you to increase the level of a Forge by 1; while playing the video game developed by Iron Gate.

The Valheim Anvils; is a structure similar to the Adze we have discussed earlier, so below I’ll tell you how to get an Anvil up and running and also how to get all required Crafting Materials.

So, let’s see how you can build an Anvil in Valheim; however, make sure you do not confuse these Anvils with the Smith’s Anvil because they are different.

How To Unlock The Anvils In Valheim

As usual, to be able to build your first Anvils, you’ll have to unlock them by finding the Crafting Materials required for this Forge upgrade.

As such, to get access to the Anvils, you’ll need to get your first Bronze Bar and common Wood. Obviously, a Forge is also required.

In Valheim Bronze must be crafted

Now, you’ll see that the Anvils recipe is unlocked; however, to build one, you’ll need a specific amount of materials:

  • 2 Bronze – To get this, you’ll have to mine Copper and Tin and then process these materials at a Smelter, along with Coal
  • 5 Wood – You can get this common material from branches or by chopping any tree or tree stump

Once you have all materials, head back to your settlement to build the Anvils.

How To Build Anvils

This Valheim Forge Upgrade comes with some special requirements.

Since now you know how to get all Crafting Materials for it, let’s see where you must place them.

  • Select your building hammer first
  • Now, press the right mouse button
  • Go to the Crafting Tab
  • Select the Anvils
  • Place the structure next to a Workbench, and a Forge

The idea here is that the Anvil in Valheim is used to upgrade the Forge but to be able to place it down, you’ll need a Workbench nearby.

It won’t upgrade the Workbench, but you can’t build one without it.

Next, you have to know that this Forge upgrade has a 2 meters radius, so make sure you don’t place it randomly.

Finally, if you build one, you’ll upgrade the Forge by 1 level, and for future upgrades, you’ll need a Forge Cooler, Smith’s Anvil, Forge Toolrack, Forge Bellows, and Grinding Wheel.
