Valheim Bronze is one of those crafting materials that will get your Viking to the next level, and because of this, it is mandatory to know how to get it as fast as possible.
The Bronze in Valheim, however, also has some special requirements, and in the following guide, we’ll talk about how to get it, where to find it and why it is so important.
Before we begin, though, it is worth mentioning that you can’t find Bronze in Valheim by normal means. Granted, you may find it in random chests, but Bronze must be crafted.
This means that in the video game developed by Iron Gate, Bronze is both a craftable and crafting material.
So let’s see why you’ll need it first.
How To Use The Valheim Bronze
As you can see, listed below are various items and structures that require Bronze. Most of these items fall under the equipment category, and it is fair to say that this crafting material helps your Viking move from the Stone Age to the Metal Age.
- Atgeir
- Bronze Axe
- Bronze Buckler
- Cultivator
- Bronze Helmet
- Bronze Mace
- Plate Cuirass
- Bronze Nails
- Bronze Pickaxe
- Horned Bronze Helmet
- Bronze Plate Leggings
- Bronze Spear
- Bronzehead arrow
- Bronze Sword
Besides the items above, however, we also have those that are connected to them, and most likely, you’ll realize that without Bronze, you can’t progress in Valheim.
A simple example here is the Fine Wood, which is not hard to get but requires a Bronze Axe. This means that without Bronze, you can’t that get that specific axe, thus, you won’t be able to get Fine Wood.
This brings us to the next question.
How To Get Bronze
Because it can’t be found like other materials, the Bronze in Valheim must be crafted, and this is where the fun begins; because you’ll need to unlock it.
The interesting thing is that Valheim respects the components of this metal as we know them (pretty much like Flint does). As such, according to Wikipedia: “Bronze is an alloy consisting primarily of copper, commonly with about 12–12.5% tin”.
And this is exactly what you need in Valheim to get Bronze: 1 Tin Bar and 2 Copper Bars.
But to get these two materials, first, you need to unlock mining. So here are the steps you have to follow from the beginning.
- When you start the game, set a small camp and unlock crafting and the Workbench
- Build the basic items and equip your Viking, then try to upgrade your equipment as much as possible so you can confront Eikthyr
- Summon the first boss at Eikthyr’s Altar, then get the Hard Antler from him so you can craft the Antler Pickaxe and unlock mining
- Now, focus on finding Surtling Cores to build a Smelter and a Charcoal Kiln
- Next, start mining Tin Ore and Copper Ore in the Black Forest Biome
- Return to the settlement and use the Charcoal Kiln to produce coal
- At the Smelter, turn Tin Ore into Tin Bars using the Coal you just got
- Use the same Smelter to turn Copper Ore into Copper Bars
- Finally, build a Forge
All of these steps are mandatory in order to produce Bronze. Once you get everything in place, it’s time to craft the material you were looking for.
How To Craft Bronze Bars
The whole process of crafting Bronze Bars in Valheim is easier than you can imagine.
All you need to do is to have the required materials in your inventory (Tin Bars and Copper Bars), then approach the Forge.
As you can see in the image above, while standing near the Forge, you’ll have the option to craft Bronze Bars. The rest of the items in my screenshot appear only after you craft your first bar.
Obviously, you’ll need a lot of Bronze in Valheim, but now you know how to get it, so get out there and start mining or check out this cheat if you want to learn how to teleport Bronze, even though it can’t be teleported through Portals.
