Legend Of Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom Zonai Charges are materials you can use to recharge Energy Cells or exchange for Zonai Devices at Zonai Device Dispensers.
As you play the game, you’ll see that the Zonai Charges materials are very important, and you must stock up on them as soon as you can.
However, you might now know where you can get the materials or how to use them in the video game developed by Nintendo.
Therefore, throughout the Legend Of Zelda ToTK guide below, we’ll provide helpful tips about the said materials.
How To Get Zonai Charges In Zelda ToTK
You’ll be able to get your hands on plenty of Zonai Charges almost immediately after starting your adventure.
Upon leaving the cave where you lose Zelda, you’ll arrive in the first explorable area, Great Sky Island.
Here you’ll encounter some enemies named Constructs that, among other items, will drop Zonai Charges once you defeat them.
As such, the much-needed materials drop from certain enemies like these Constructs.
How To Use Zonai Charges
Now let’s see what you can do with the materials. As mentioned, they can recharge Energy Cells.
You’ll get your first Energy Cell upon talking to a Maker Construct as you explore the Great Sky Island.
The friendly Construct will also teach that Zonai Devices like Fans cannot be operated without an Energy Cell.
For example, as you use a Fan device, you’ll see your Energy Cell depleting.
When the Energy Cell is fully depleted, it slowly recharges itself, and it can’t be used again until it reaches 100%.
However, if you can’t afford to wait at that particular moment, you must use a Zonai Charge to recharge the Energy Cell before it reaches 0%.
You can do so if you open your inventory (press + on your controller), then go to the Materials tab by pressing L or R, select the Zonai Charge from the list, press A, select Use, and press A again.
As you can see, one Zonai Charge recharges only a part of the Energy Cell, but you can repeat the process if you need more.
Also mentioned, you can exchange Zonai Charges for Zonai Devices, but you must first find a Device Dispenser.
The first Device Dispenser you’ll encounter is on the south side of Great Sky Island, as shown on the map below.

In exchange for Zonai Charges, you’ll basically get random Zonai Devices, like Fans, Flame Emitters, Portable Pots, etc.
