The Southern Sands Treasure Map in Atlas Fallen is one of the rewards you’ll receive upon finishing the Hunter or Hunted side quest, and it allows you to start another Treasure Hunt leading to a buried chest.
The Atlas Fallen Southern Sands Map is therefore found in the Wildlands area of the video game developed by Deck13 Interactive.
Unlike other Treasure Maps in the game, The Southern Sands features only a piece, meaning that after you obtain it, you’ll get to see the whole drawing without having to look for additional fragments.
So, let’s see where to find The Southern Sands Treasure Chest and how to complete the riddle provided on the map.
Atlas Fallen The Southern Sands Treasure Map Location
As said, The Southern Sands map is, in fact, a reward you’ll get from the Head Huntress upon finding the Young One as part of the Hunter or Hunted quest.
In case you miss the quest and beat the story, you can still buy it from one of the vendors in the Wildlands area.
However, assuming you are a completionist who doesn’t rush through the game, make sure you visit the Hunter Camp marked on the map below and finish the said side quest.
Once you finish the Hunter or Hunted side quest, return to the Hunter Camp and claim your rewards, including the treasure map.
Where To Find The Southern Sands Treasure Chest in Atlas Fallen
After you get the map, as you know by now, you’ll want to inspect it closely, so open the game’s menu, followed by the Journey Tab and the Treasure Maps section.
Choose The Southern Sands Treasure Map, and you’ll see a drawing showing a pointy rock split in two. Under the picture, you can read the following riddle:
“Jagged rocks are everywhere, but there is one gorge which keeps a secret…”
Obviously, the riddle doesn’t help too much since there are jagged rocks everywhere in The Wildlands area; however, if you thoroughly explored the map, then you may want to check the southwestern side.
The Atlas Fallen The Southern Sands Treasure Chest is found north of the Mining Village and southwest of the Hunter Camp, where you found the map.
In the screenshot above, you can see the exact location of the chest, so travel toward that spot, and you’ll find a hill.
On top of it is a small clearing at the bottom of the jagged rock in the drawing. Make sure you are ready to deal with some Wraiths, then look in the clearing for a glowing patch of sand.
Get close to it, then press Up on your DPad to pull out the Hidden Treasure Chest.
For completing the Atlas Fallen The Southern Sands Treasure Hunt and finding the chest, you’ll receive an Arkis Watcher Game Piece Artefact you can sell at any vendor for Tributes.
