Payment Past Due is a Diablo 4 gather quest, available in the Kehjistan region, in which you must help Nageed, a male NPC, by retrieving a lockbox.

Hence, Diablo 4 Payment Past Due is part of the 44 Kehjistan side-quests, all needed for 100% completion in the desert region.

The quest is not particularly hard if you like carefully exploring and taking on a couple of mobs every now and then.

Thus, it would be best to check our following walkthrough to make sure you don’t encounter any problems while completing D4 Payment Past Due side-quest.

How To Start Payment Past Due Quest in Diablo 4

Starting the Payment Past Due side-quest doesn’t needs you to meet any special requirement.

You just have to advance with the main story all the way to Act 4.

Then you must get to the town of Tarsarak in the Scouring Sands area of the Kehjistan region.

Finally, you have to find an NPC named Nageed on the south side of the town. Check the next map for the location.

Diablo 4 Payment Past Due side-quest becomes available from the start of Act 4

Assuming this is not your first time visiting Tarsarak, you can use the town’s Waypoint to fast travel.

After locating the quest giver, he will tell you that he worked the mines until some bandits came and slaughtered everybody they could get their hands on.

Nageed barely made it out alive and needs your assistance with retrieving the lockbox that has all the miners’ wages inside.

Considering he’ll gladly give you a share, you decide to help out.

Where To Find the Miner’s Lockbox in Diablo 4

Upon speaking with Nageed, you can open your map to see the quest’s search area on the south side of the Scouring Sands.

Now you must head there and start searching for the lockbox.

But if you don’t have the patience to look throughout the search area, you can check the D4 map below, where we’ve marked the exact location of the lockbox.

Keep in mind that the area has plenty of mobs just waiting to fight you, so tread carefully.

Once you reach the spot, you can see the Miner’s Lockbox on the ground, and next to it on a chest, you can also find Nageed’s Letter that says:

We’re all set. Those pigs-born miners suspect nothing. The eastern guards will change shifts at dusk – that’s your opening to attack. I’ve risked my neck and earned my share. Do not try to cheat me. – Nageed

It seems your new friend Nageed has been lying to you; as such, it’s time to return to him.

After getting back to the NPC, you have two options, either give him the lockbox or confront him by telling him you found his letter.

The dialogue is different depending on your choice, but the outcome is the same, you complete Diablo 4 Payment Past Due, and you receive: XP, Gold, Renown points, and a Cache. However, you can now start another quest available in Tarsarak, like Traces of Iron.
