God Of War Ragnarok What Lies Below is probably the shortest quest you need to complete in The Jungle area of the Vanaheim Crater because it features only a double boss fight against two Dreki.

The God Of War Ragnarok What Lies Below Favor is nevertheless mandatory if you are a completionist looking to achieve 100% completion in the video game developed by Santa Monica Studio for PlayStation 4 and PlayStations 5.

That’s because the What Lies Below Side Quest counts as one of the 47 Favours in the video game.

Although it’s gear, difficulty, and skill-dependent, throughout the following God Of War Ragnarok What Lies Below walkthrough, we’ll discuss this short Favour.

How To Start What Lies Below In The Vanaheim Jungle

As said, the What Lies Below Quest is triggered in The Jungle area, part of the Vanaheim Crater.

It activates automatically when you enter the hidden area behind the Jungle Dam; therefore, you’ll start it while trying to flood The Crater during the Return Of The River Favour we explained in-depth here.

Eventually, during the said quest, you’ll get behind the Dam, and Kratos spots a Dreki jumping in the water. At this point, What Likes Below Side Quest becomes active.

How To Find A Way To The Dreki

Immediately after starting the Favour, you should focus on clearing the area behind the Dam.

Once you do this, you’ll need to solve a small puzzle by burning the brambles on the Dam’s gates. This puzzle is explained in-depth here if you need help with it.

Once you free the two dam gates, use the large wheel to flood The Jungle and The Plains. Now, head to the front of the Dam using the crack in the wall, then return to the area behind.

Behind the Dam, head south, and on the other side, you’ll see Magnus. If you talk to him, you’ll start the Casualty of War: The Stein Favour.

Head down the ramp next to Magnus, then turn right to spot an air stream coming out from a stone wall in the distance.

Aim for the air stream and throw Kratos’s Spear by holding down L2 to aim and R1 to throw.

Now, retrace your steps, jump over the gap, go past Magnus, and head toward the spear. You should be able to use it to swing across the water.

Climb the next wall now, and drop the golden chain to reach the round arena below.

The moment you descend, you’ll start the fight against not one but two Dreki. As you can guess, this fight depends on the difficulty level you have set up and Kratos’s gear. If you encounter difficulties, you can always return to the two Dreki after you get better gear. Or you can try lowering the difficulty level.

By defeating the two Dreki, you’ll complete the God Of War Ragnarok What Lies Below Favor. Now, it’s recommended to return to Magnus and focus on his quest, which is also short, provided you know where to find the other half of mead stein.

Assuming you want to focus on other quests, make sure you check our GoW Ragnarok Wiki here, as we covered all of them along with all collectibles’ locations.
