Monster Hunter Rise (MHR) Shrine Ruins Relic Record Locations

Monster Hunter Rise Shrine Ruins is the first locale you’ll visit in the game, which contains ancient ruins that have been abandoned for many years and are said to contain the secrets of the MH universe. To find the Shrine Ruins Relic Records with their Old Messages in Monster Hunter Rise, you will need to explore the ruins and look for them in various locations.

The MHRise Shrine Ruins Relic Records can be found in out-of-the-way corners, behind obstacles, or other hard-to-reach places. So, in the following guide,  you will find a custom map pinpointing all the Relic Records Messages locations, followed by hints on where to look for them in Monster Hunter Rise.

MH Rise Shrine Ruins features ten Relic Records Messages. Check the custom map below for the exact location of each Relic Record. Now, let’s see where to find them in the game.

Relic Record #1 – In Front of a Secret Shrine

The first Relic Record can be found at the highest point of Area 5 in the Shrine Ruins. To reach the location marked in the image above, go to Area 3 and climb the long green vines to the top. Follow the path to the left leading to Area 5, and go up around the mountain on the wooden scaffolding until you reach a dead-end with a house on the left.

Climb the green vines on the right to reach an area with wyverns and a bone pile. Also, pick up the nearby Wirebug +1, which will help you in the next section. Go to the back of the area near the edge to find a broken wooden bridge. Use your Wirebug to jump from platform to platform all the way to the top. In front of a secret shrine, you’ll find the first Relic Record.

Relic Record #2 – In a Cliff Corner

The following Shrine Ruins Relic Record can be found in a cliff corner between Area 6 and Area 8 of the region. Go to Area 6, enter the path on the right leading to Area 8, and climb the cliffside on the left using your Wirebug. Then, you’ll have to drop on a lower section near the ravine to find the second MHRise Shrine Ruins Relic Record on a cliff corner.

Relic Record #3 – In Front of a Shrine

For the next Shrine Ruins Relic Record, go to Area 12 and climb the cliffside using the green vines or your Wirebug. At the top, look for a stone shrine covered in green moss. In front of it, you’ll find the third Relic Record in the Shrine Ruins region.

Relic Record #4 – Under a Japanese Archway

The fourth Relic Record can be found in Area 11 under a Japanese archway with hanging rugs. The exact location of the relic is marked in the image above. The archway is on a cliff under a tree house with giant roots around it.

Relic Record #5 – Past a Wooden Bridge

The fifth Shrine Ruins Relic Record can be found in front of a stone shrine on an upper section of Area 13. To reach this location, place a Great Wirebug on the Jewel Lillies located on the path between Area 13 and Area 12 to climb up. Then, climb the cliffsides with the broken ladders leading toward the location marked in the image above. After you cross the wooden bridge, you’ll find the Relic Record in front of a stone shrine.

Relic Record #6 – Near a Large Japanese Archway

The sixth Relic Record is on a cliffside near a large Japanese archway on the path between Area 8 and Area 7. Go to the location marked in the image above and climb up the cliffside to the left of the Japanese archway. If you have difficulties climbing this section, pick up a Wirebug +1.

Relic Record #7 – On a Large Tree Branch

The following Shrine Ruins Relic Record can be found on a large tree branch above Area 2. To reach this location, place a Great Wirebug on the second Jewel Lillies on the platforms to the right of the waterfall, which will launch you toward the tree. If you have difficulties finding the Jewel Lillies or don’t have any Great Wirebugs, you can climb the mountain from Area 1 and then follow the path toward the tree. After you climb the tree, the MHRise Relic Record is on the first branch to the right.

Relic Record #8 – Inside a Cave

The eighth Relic Record can be found inside a secret cave in the mountain of Area 5. The entrance to this secret cave can be seen from the path between Area 6 and Area 8. To reach the cave entrance, ensure you have a full stamina bar and grab Wirebug +1, which can be found in Area 6.

Then, use a Wirebug by pressing (ZL) + (X) on the cliffside to start climbing up and hold (R) to sprint up. Once you run out of stamina, use the Wirebug again, which will give you some time to recover and sprint again. Keep doing that until you enter the cave. Inside, you will find the Relic Record near a stone shrine.

Relic Record #9 – Between Flowers

For the following Relic Record, jump over the wall on the northwestern side of Area 7. Look for a patch of flower bushes near some bamboo trees. Destroy these bushes to reveal the ninth Shrine Ruins Relic Record in the Monster Hunter Rise.

Relic Record #10 – On a Cliffside Near Waterfall

The final Relic Record can be found on the first platform of the cliffside near the waterfall. Use your Wirebugs and keep sprinting on the cliffside until you reach the platform with the Relic Record, as marked in the image below.

Once you have all 10 Shrine Ruins Relic Records, talk to Kagero, the Merchant, who will exchange the Old Messages with the following room decoration items: Arzuros Carving and Magnamalo Carving.
