Monster Hunter Rise (MHR) Sandy Plains Relic Record Locations

Sandy Plains is a desolate desert locale characterized by sandy dunes and rocky outcroppings, with various monsters that inhabit the region, which was first introduced by Monster Hunter 3 and remade for Monster Hunter Rise. While hunting monsters and gathering resources, you’ll come across special collectible items known as MHRise Relic Records, which contain Old Messages that allow you to uncover new insights about the game’s lore.

Also, if you collect these Relic Records, you will be rewarded with a fair amount of Kamura Points and Zenny Coins, as well as some room decoration pieces from Kagero the Merchant.

Monster Hunter Rise Sandy Plains region features 10 Relic Records scattered throughout the locale, hidden in areas off the path or tucked away in secret locations. Check our custom map below for the exact location of each Relic Record in the Sandy Plains region. Some of the Sandy Plains Relic Records marked on the map below are located in the underground area.

Relic Record #1 – Near Some Dead Trees

The first Sandy Plains Record can be found in the northwest corner of Area 2. After you reach Area 2, climb the cliffside to the west and look for the katana sword stuck in the ground behind dead trees near the edge of the map.

Relic Record #2 – Inside an Alcove

For the following Sandy Plains Record, reach the fish pond located between Area 2 and Area 1 at the lowest level. Near some vines and inside an alcove, you’ll find the Relic Record waiting for you to collect it.

Relic Record #3 – Behind a Cliffside

For the third Relic Record in Sandy Plains, go to Area 1 and climb the east cliffside. Behind the cliffside facing the Area 5 pond, you’ll find the Relic Record stuck in the sand near the top.

Relic Record #4 – Between Bushes

For the next MHRise Relic Record, travel to the southeast part of Area 11, where you will find a large dead tree and a patch of flower bushes. Destroy the flower bushes using your sword to reveal the Relic Record hiding underneath.

Relic Record #5 – Inside an Alcove

To reach the following Sandy Plains Relic Record, go through Area 6 to reach Area 8. From the northern edge of Area 8, look down to see a stone bridge leading into an alcove. At the end of the stone bridge, you’ll find the Relic Record stuck in the sand inside the alcove.

Relic Record #6 – INside an Underground Opening

From Sub-camp 2, located between Areas 5, 8, and 9, climb the southeast cliffside to reach a large circular hole with sand flowing to the underground section. Jump through the hole and make sure to land on the platform with the tree, Bonepile, Mining Outcrop, and Mandragora Mushroom. While facing the small tree, look to the right to notice an opening inside the nearby cliff. Inside the opening, you’ll find the sixth Relic Record stuck in the ground.

Relic Record #7 – On the Sub-Camp 1 Ruins

If you have it unlocked, fast-travel to Sub-camp 1; otherwise, ride your pet to the ruins between Area 2 and Area 7. Climb up the ruins one floor to find the seventh Relic Sword near a round stone pillar.

Relic Record #8 – In an Alcove on a Cliffside

For the following Monster Hunter Rise Record in Sandy Plains, go to Area 5 and climb the eastern mountain. From up here, look down on the canyon in Area 4 to find an alcove on the cliffside containing the Record.

Relic Record #9 – In the Underground Ruins

To obtain the ninth Relic Record, go to Area 12 and enter the underground section. Then, enter the ruins near Area 9 and check the first room on the right with the Bonepile. You’ll find the Relic Record in the corner of the room.

Relic Record #10 – Behind a Ruined Brick Wall

For the final MH Rise Relic Record in Sandy Plains, climb up to reach the surface of Area 12. Look behind a ruined brick wall in the northern part of the area to find the Relic Record near the unique item Desert Rose.

Once you’ve collected all 10 Sandy Plains Relic Records, return to Kagero, the Merchant in the village, who will reward you with the following room decoration pieces: Almudron Carving and Izuchi Carving.
