Monster Hunter Rise Frost Islands is a snowy, ice-covered region that can be visited as part of the game’s story.
The MHRise Frost Islands are accessed through the village of Kamura, and you can visit them by taking special hunting quests or missions available from the village’s quest board.
While exploring the Frost Islands, you will be able to find special collectible items known as Relic Records, which contain Old Messages left behind by previous Monster Hunters, but most of them are well hidden.
So, follow this guide to learn where to find all Frost Islands Relic Records in the video game developed and published by Capcom, following the same order as mentioned in the Notebook.
Monster Hunter Frost Islands Relic Records Locations Map
The Frost Islands region contains 10 Relic Records scattered across the map in hard-to-reach places or secret caves.
Check our custom map for the exact location of each Relic Record in the Frost Islands locale.
Check our tips and hints below if you struggle to find or reach any of the Frost Islands Relic Records marked on the custom map above.
Frost Islands Message #1: On The Top Of A Small Island
The first Frost Islands Relic Record can be found at the top of a small island in the center of the map, in Area 7.
As you reach this place, grab an extra Wirebug and perform a chain of jumps using them to reach the top. You’ll find the Relic Record in front of a ruined gazebo.
Frost Islands Message #2: On A Tree Branch
The following Frost Islands Relic Record can be found at the highest branch of the largest tree between Area 1 and Area 3.
Use a Wirebug on the tree trunk to start sprinting up, then use another one to climb all the way to the top. Hold (R) to keep sprinting on walls after using a Wirebug.
Frost Islands Message #3: Inside A Secret Tunnel
From the Main Camp, follow the path to the left and jump down to the right on the hill with several permabuffs (endemic lifeforms).
Look up on the southern cliff to see a small opening that you may climb up to. Use a Wirebug to jump on the cliff, then hold (R) to sprint up. Make sure you have enough stamina.
At the end of the tunnel, you’ll find the third Monster Hunter Rise Frost Islands Relic Record in front of a secret shrine.
Frost Islands Message #4: Inside A Secret Cave
For the next Frost Islands Relic Record, go to the section with tall rocks and a broken bridge between Area 4 and Area 7.
You will spot a small cave entrance below the bridge in the south-southeast corner of this section.
Get inside to find the MHRise Relic Record in front of a secret shrine at the end of the cave.
Frost Islands Message #5: Inside A Snowman
Go to Area 5 of the Frost Islands region and climb the northern cliffs to reach a Melynx Camp. Inside this camp, there is a cat-like snowman.
Destroy the snowman using any Barrel Bomb to reveal the fifth Frost Islands Relic Record in Monster Hunter Rise.
Frost Islands Message #6: At The Top Of A Mast
The sixth Frost Islands Relic Record can be found at the top of the mast of a wrecked ship in Area 8.
Go to Area 8, climb the cliff to the left of the ship to get on it, then climb the mast in the middle all the way to the top to reach the Relic Record.
Frost Islands Message #7: Inside A Secret Room
For the following Monster Hunter Rise Frost Islands Relic Record, enter the cave in Area 12 through Area 10.
In the southwest corner of Area 12, there is a small opening inside the wall where you can crawl through to reach a secret room. It is near a Wirebug +1.
Once inside this secret room, climb up on the right to find the MHRise Relic Record inside an alcove.
Frost Islands Message #8: Inside A Small Opening
For the following Frost Islands Relic Record in Monster Hunter Rise, go to Area 5 and climb the cliff to the east.
Then, go around the mountain to find the Relic Record in a small opening stuck in the ground in front of a tombstone.
Frost Islands Message #9: On The Highest Platform
For the ninth Frost Island Relic Record, you’ll have to go through a climbing section, which can be a bit difficult and tiresome without proper guidance.
Go to Area 9, climb the frozen vines, then climb the two walls on the right. Because this area is covered in ice and snow, there are a few spots where you can climb up.
At the top, follow the path to the right, where you will find a Mining Outcrop with a blue icon. Near the Mining Outcrop is a cliff that is not covered in ice that you can climb.
To climb it, use a Wirebug by pressing (ZL) + (ZR), then hold (R) to sprint up. Make sure you have a full stamina bar. At the top, you’ll find another Mining Outcrop with a white icon.
Get near the edge where the Mining Outcrop is, and jump on the nearby platform using the Wirebug by pressing (ZL) + (A), which will pull you forward.
Now, climb the cliff behind the Snow Herb plant and use the Wirebugs to pull yourself onto the upper platform to the left.
This is the most challenging part of this climbing section because it requires good timing and aiming.
After you reach this platform, you’ll find the Relic Record stuck in the ground.
Frost Islands Message #10: Under The Japanese Archway
To obtain the final Frost Island Relic Record in Monster Hunter Rise, climb back up to the platform with the Snow Herb plant.
Instead of climbing the cliff, use the Wirebugs to pull yourself onto the platform to the left.
Then, go through the narrow tunnel on the right and place a Great Wirebug on the Jewel Lillies.
This Great Wirebug will launch you into the hole above Area 12.
But instead of going through the hole, use the Wirebugs by pressing (ZL) + (ZR) to pull yourself up on the hole’s edge.
Under the Japanese Archway, you will find the final Relic Record in the Frost Islands region.
After collecting all 10 Frost Islands Relic Records, speak with Kagero, the Merchant in the village of Kamura, who will reward you for your efforts with the following room decoration items:
- Goss Harag Carving
- Tetranadon Carving.
These are all Frost Islands Relic Records in Monster Hunter Rise. If you need help finding the Relic Records in the other regions, please visit our MHR Relic Records Guide here.
