Thymesia Underground Laboratory Story Locations

Thymesia‘s Underground Laboratory, the place where researchers did experiments on people using the vile blood, is the second part of the Royal Garden. The Underground Laboratory is a gruesome place covered in vile blood and the home of the Sound of the Abyss boss.

The Underground Laboratory is pretty much a long linear tunnel covered in vile blood and filled with enemies. But, there are still some hidden spots around where the stories are located, and can be easily missed. So, to avoid that from happening, we will go over all 5 Underground Laboratory Main Quest locations and how to get them.

Story #1 – Experiment No. 1 Observation Report 03

Start the Underground Laboratory Main Quest, and tweak your loadout by leveling up your character and upgrading your potions. Also, you can pick the spear plague weapon, which is very effective against the most corrupted shield-wielding enemies you will face.

Now, follow the path and deal with the two enemies along the way until you reach an area with a bow-wielding enemy sitting on a platform shooting at you. Take the stairs on the left, get behind cover to avoid his arrows, and deal with the enemies around. After the second set of stairs, you will find Experiment No. 1 Observation Report 03.

Story #2 – Experiment No. 1 Observation Report 01

Now, jump down off the platform directly opposite the bow-wielding enemy’s position and follow the path up the ramp to his platform. Deal with him and the nearby spear-wielding enemy and collect Experiment No. 1 Observation Report 01 near the platform’s edge to add to your Stories collection.

Story #3 – Blood Written Letter 01

Go down the path until you reach an intersection with a set of stairs on the left, but both lead to the same. Taking the path to the right, you must go against a halberd-wielding mini-boss, and you can collect a Sage Ingredient.

After taking any of these paths, on the left side of the entrance to the next area of the Underground Laboratory, where the beacon is located, you will find the Blood Written Letter 01.

Story #4 – Blood Written Letter 02

After you light up the beacon and rest, keep following the path until you reach the human-shaped made of blood mini-boss wielding a whip and spawning smaller versions of him, like the one we’ve seen in the Royal Garden Library.

Once you defeat him, go under the large root near his location, and you will find the Blood Written Letter 02 at the top of the ramp.

Story #5 – Vile Blood Experiment Records 02

Keep following the path until you go against a greatsword-wielding mini-boss at a crossroads. Once you defeat him, take the path to the left, kill the spear-wielding enemy, and collect the Vile Blood Experiment Records 02 in the right corner.

Where To Find the Underground Laboratory Sub Quest 1 Stories

During Underground Laboratory Sub Quest 1, you will notice that the map is identical to the previous one, and you’ll start from the end and try to reach the beginning to escape the Underground Laboratory. But this time around, there are six stories for you to collect, a couple of them located in different places or areas.

Story #1 – Message in Blood 03

Start Underground Laboratory Sub Quest 1, light up the nearby beacon, and follow the path until you face your first enemies. Take out the corrupted shield-wielding enemy and the two scythe-wielding enemies mining to collect the Message in Blood 03 in the left corner near a torch.

Story #2 – Vile Blood Experiment Records 00

Keep following the path until you go against a greatsword-wielding mini-boss. Once you defeat him, go under the nearby large root, deal with the two scythe-wielding enemies, and collect the Vile Blood Experiment Records 00 at the top of the ramp.

Story #3 – Derivative Research 01

Get back on track, keep going, and deal with the enemies along the way until you reach the next beacon. Light up the beacon, tweak your loadout if you need to, and kill the halberd-wielding mini-boss nearby while keeping an eye on the human-shaped creatures spawning around.

If you use a lot of potions after the fight, I recommend you rest at the beacon, then follow the path further (the mini-boss won’t spawn after rest). A few steps ahead, you will encounter a bow-wielding enemy shooting arrows at you, with a spear-wielding enemy resting near him. Take them both out and collect the Derivative Research 01 near them.

Story #4 – Vile Blood Experiment Records 03

In the following area of the Underground Laboratory, there will be a bow-wielding enemy shooting at you from the top of a cliff. So, to avoid fighting in his sight and getting hit, climb the stairs first and take out the enemies in your way at the top of them.

Once you’re done, go for the shield-wielding and bow-wielding enemies at the top of the cliff, then collect the Vile Blood Experiment Records 03 near the edge.

Story #5 – Experiment No. 1 Observation Report 02

Going into the next area of the Underground Laboratory, you will be welcomed with more arrows going in your direction. Avoid fighting and keep running up the stairs, on the platform, then jump down and go for the nearby bow-wielding, shield-wielding, and spear-wielding enemies.

Leave the shield-wielding enemy at the end because he is the toughest, and kill the weak ones first.

Once you’re done, beneath the wooden platform, there is another platform with Experiment No. 1 Observation Report 02.

Story #6 – Derivative Research 02

Proceed into the final area of the Underground Laboratory to face the human-shaped creature made of blood-wielding a whip. Dodge his whip and always stay close to him for an easy fight, then collect the Derivative Research 02 on the nearby rock.
