Thymesia is a souls-like action RPG set in a plague-stricken world where people used alchemy to improve their lives. Instead of using it occasionally, their uncontrolled heavy dependence on it destroyed their kingdom. You play as Corvus, a plague doctor who may have been involved in developing a mixture that may rescue the kingdom and put a stop to alchemical experiments.
So, you explore the game’s three major zones in search of lore and stories that will help you put it all together and, hopefully, save your kingdom. Therefore, in the following guide, we will show you where to find all 22 Hermes Fortress Stories, following the same order as in the table below, to learn more about the disaster in the Kingdom of Hermes.

Where To Find the Main Quest Stories
Hermes Fortress Main Quest can be considered a complete maze on your first playthrough, with many ladders, hidden or locked areas, and too many floors. Even if you follow the trail of enemies to reach the Cathedral and fight the boss known as Varg, you will miss a lot of Hermes Fortress Stories.
Story #1 – Soldier’s Sachet
Start the Hermes Fortress Main Quest, light up the nearby beacon, and don’t forget to use all your memory shards and upgrade your potions. Follow the path ahead, deal with the two spear-wielding enemies, and climb the ladder, then the stairs. Near the stairs, there is a ladder that takes you up on a wooden platform, and by the end, you will find the Soldier’s Sachet.
Story #2 – Diary of a Knight’s Mother 01
Get back down from the wooden platform, deal with the spear-wielding enemies around, then just before the wooden ramp, jump down to the left. Go up the short ramp, then right in front of you is a wooden crate with the Diary of a Knight’s Mother 01 inside. Break the crate and pick up the story.
Story #3 – Pure Blood Injection Records
Turn around, follow the wooden path, and jump below where a spear-wielding enemy is patrolling the platform. Go back inside the fortress, deal with the corrupted spear-wielding enemy, then climb the ladder on the right in the next room after you deal with the two spear-wielding enemies and collect the Garlic Ingredient in the corner.
At the top of the ladder, you will face three spear-wielding enemies and a bow-wielding enemy shooting from a distance. Take them out and proceed to the next room, where you will find the Pure Blood Injection Records on the ground in the corner.
Story #4 – Notes on Hermes Life Fortress 01
Now, return to the previous room where the archer was shooting at you, go towards him, jump down below, and after a few steps ahead, light up the beacon. Climb the nearby ladder, take out the archer (be careful with the archer on the upper floor shooting at you), and halfway on this corridor near the corrupted spear-wielding enemy, break the wooden barrels and the cart on the right to reveal a hidden ladder.
Climb the ladder after you deal with the spear-wielding enemy at the bottom, go up the wooden ramp, and immediately on the left in the following area, you will find the Notes on Hermes Life Fortress 01 on the ground.
Story #5 – Tales of Folk Potions 02
After you deal with the enemies on this floor, reach the top of this tower to face a greatsword-wielding mini-boss who will drop the Key to the Top of the Fortress Wall necessary to progress further. From here, climb the ladder down and keep going ahead towards the direction of the archer shooting at you by jumping down twice until you reach the bottom floor.
Keep going ahead, climb the ladder in the next small room, and walk on the wooden platform until you reach another ladder guarded by a spear-wielding enemy. At the top of the ladder, deal with the shooting archer, then go to the opposite side of his location to find a crate guarded by a spear-wielding enemy. Inside the crate, you will find Tales of Folk Potions 02.
Story #6 – Diary of an Unknown Knight 01
After you collect the previous story, turn around, and you will see a ladder on the left side that will take you to the upper floor. Climb the ladder, follow the path on the right, and climb another ladder to find at the top the Diary of an Unknown Knight 01 inside a wooden crate.
Story #7 – Troop Selection Ceremony
Once you collect the previous story, turn around and jump down below on a platform with a Collection of Memories Lv1, climb down the ladder (next to the Tales of Folk Potions 02 story), and follow the path to the right, down the wooden ramp with a ladder. Keep following this path until you reach the beacon, light it up, tweak your loadout, and proceed through the crack in the wall. Go to the left corner of this area, where you will find a large wooden gate and the Troop Selection Ceremony story on the left wall near the gate.
Story #8 – Tales of Folk Potions 01
From here, climb the stairs on the right, open the gate in front of you, and climb the ladder on the left. Turn left, follow the path and deal with the enemies along the way until you can jump down below or climb the ladder down. At the end of the hallway, you will face a halberd-wielding mini-boss, and just before his location, there is a path on the left leading to the Tales of Folk Potions 01 story in front of a sewer.
Story #9 – Civil Servant Notebook 01
Now, we need to retrace our steps back to the gate you opened earlier: turn around, climb back on the ladder, and jump down or climb down on the right by the end of this corridor. Proceed through the other gate ahead, then turn left at the top of the stairs to climb a ladder. Keep following this path until you reach the same location as in the image below to find the Civil Servant Notebook 01 at the edge of the floor.
Story #10 – Diary of a Knight’s Mother 02
Once you pick up the previous story, jump down below, turn around, and follow the path up the stairs. Keep following the path up the stairs until you reach the large wooden front door of the Cathedral. On the right side of this door, you will find the Diary of a Knight’s Mother 02 on the ground.
Where To Find the Sub Quest 1 Stories
During the Hermes Fortress Sub Quest 1, you will go through a new place known as the Residential Area, where you will make your way through the town to reach the boss known as Urd. Also, a few stories are hidden, so you might need a little help with them.
Story #1 – Notes on Hermes Life Fortress 02
Start the Hermes Fortress Sub Quest 1, light up the nearby beacon, use any of your memory shards left to level up your character, and tweak your loadout if you feel something is not working for you. Once you’re done, proceed to the front of the Cathedral, deal with the spear-wielding enemy along the way, and open the wooden door to get inside.
Inside the Cathedral, you will encounter a couple of regular enemies and a halberd-wielding mini-boss. In front of the large pair of doors, guarded by a spear-wielding enemy, you will find the Notes on Hermes Life Fortress 02.
Story #2 – Tales of Folk Potions 03
Once you have collected the previous story, go outside, follow the path down the stairs, and deal with the enemies along the way until you reach the next beacon. Take the right path inside the fortress from the beacon until you reach a dead-end with a locked door. In front of this door, you will find the Tales of Folk Potions 03 on the ground.
Story #3 – Hermes Local Announcement
Return to the beacon and proceed into the Hermes Fortress Courtyard, where you will encounter the greatsword-wielding mini-boss you must kill to get the Key to Residential Area and progress further. Near the large wooden gate on the right, you will find the Hermes Local Announcement pinned on the wall.
Story #4 – Surveillance Record
Turn around, and right in front of you, after a couple of steps, there is a ladder hidden behind a few wooden barrels. Break the wooden barrels and climb to the top on the wooden platform to reach a small room filled with more wooden barrels. In the upper right corner, inside a crate behind a couple of wooden barrels, you will find the Surveillance Record.
Story #5 – Notes from an Unknown Resident 01
Get back down and open the large wooden gate using the wheel on the right side to reach the Residential Area. Go down the path and enter the first house on the left to find Notes from an Unknown Resident 01.
Story #6 – Diary of an Unknown Resident
Keep following the path through the Residential Area until you reach the beacon inside one of the houses. Deal with the regular enemies and the mini-boss with the giant hand, then enter the house with a fire torch in front to find the Diary of an Unknown Resident.
Story #7 – Royal Family Rumors
Keep following the path through the Residential Area and deal with the enemies around the dry artesian fountain. Immediately on the left, after you leave the fountain site, you will find the Royal Family Rumors in front of a knife-wielding enemy grieving.
Where To Find the Sub Quest 2 Stories
The last section of the Hermes Fortress features only four stories, but you still might have trouble finding even such a low number of stories.
Story #1 – Civil Servant Notebook 02
Start the Hermes Fortress Sub Quest 2, light up the nearby beacon, and tweak your character by leveling up, choosing talents, or upgrading your potions. Keep following the path inside the fortress until you encounter an archer shooting at you from the top of a platform with a ladder on the right side. Go straight up for the archer, take him out, and deal with the rest of the enemies on this floor.
Keep going up the ladders to reach the top of the tower, where you will go against a halberd-wielding mini-boss. After you defeat him, jump down below from the breach in the wall to collect the Civil Servant Notebook 02.
Story #2 – Diary of an Unknown Knight 02
From here, jump down two floors until you reach a room with three spear-wielding enemies and a shield-wielding enemy in the nearby room. Once you defeat them, proceed through the long corridor where a twin swords-wielding mini-boss will jump down to fight you.
After you defeat the mini-boss, open the nearby metal door, climb the ladder, go up the wooden ramp, and reach the top of the tower. On top of the tower, you will find the Diary of an Unknown Knight 02 on the floor.
Story #3 – Diary of a Knight’s Mother 03
Now, climb down the nearby ladder and jump or climb down one more floor to encounter a corrupted halberd-wielding enemy and a shield-wielding enemy at the bottom. Follow the path on the wooden platform, avoiding the archer’s arrows, and just by the end, jump down below to the right. Go down the wooden ramp and immediately turn right to find the Diary of a Knight’s Mother 03 on the ground.
Story #4 – Marshaling Order for the Knights of Pure Blood
Now, jump down below, light up the nearby beacon, and prepare to fight against the greatsword-wielding mini-boss. After you defeat him, you will complete the quest, and the Marshaling Order for the Knights of Pure Blood will spawn near the Aisemy’s spectral form.
