Diablo 4 Closing the Book is a gather quest you can start while exploring Hawezar, the swampy region of the video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment.

Note that you need to finish Closing Book along with the rest of the Hawezar side-quests if you are aiming for 100% completion in the region.

Considering that the quest’s main objective is to collect some pretty hard-to-find ledger pages, you might need some assistance this time around.

No worries, though, because throughout the following walkthrough, we’ll provide all the details you need to complete D4 Closing the Book side-quest.

How To Start Closing the Book Quest in Diablo 4

First, you have to meet some requirements to make the quest available:

  • Reach Act 5 and the Hawezar region
  • Clear Eriman’s Pyre Stronghold east of the Dismal Foothills area

When you are good to go, you must head to Wejinhani town in the Dismal Foothills area and talk to Elder Akos.

Check the map below for the exact location of the quest giver.

The NPC wants your help to show the real face of the Zakarum missionaries to the children in Wejinhani by finding a ledger.

So, your first objective is to reach Eriman’s Pyre with Elder Akos.

We suggest you use your mount to reach the said area faster.

Once you get to the spot marked on the previous map, you have to talk to Elder Akos again.

The NPC says the ledger is around here, but he can’t help you further because of all the memories this place evokes.

Now let’s see where exactly you can find the ledger pages.

Where To Find the Ledger Pages in Diablo 4

To continue, you must find four ledger pages throughout the search area you can now see on your map.

The problem is that the quest items are quite small and can be easily missed as they don’t appear on your minimap even if you get really close.

You must look very carefully for Smoldering Tomes on the ground, as shown in the next screenshot.

If by any chance you can’t find one or two Tomes, you should check the following map, where we’ve marked the locations of all four.

Keep in mind that the area is packed with mobs that want you dead, so don’t let them overrun you.

After you collect all four ledger pages, you must speak with Elder Akos back in Wejinhani.

As such, return to the town, preferably by using the Waypoint, to fast travel and save time.

Elder Akos will thank you for helping him, and you’ll be rewarded with XP, Gold, Renown points, and a Cache.

Great job, Nephalem! You’ve completed Diablo 4 Closing Book fairly easily and can now focus on another side-quest available in the Dismal Foothills area, like Gift of the Swamp.
