Hawezar is a swampland region within the Sanctuary of Diablo IV and contains 49 unique side quests available to complete.
After finishing a side quest, you will earn 20 Renown points for the Hawezar region as well as XP, Gold, Caches, and occasionally some gear.
In the Hawezar region, there are also three Quest Challenges for you to complete. These challenges are To Walk a Dark Path, Discretionary Spending, and The Heretic.
All 49 Hawezar side quests are mandatory to complete if you wish to achieve a 100% completion rate of the region.

Talk to Tomyris and enter Maugan’s Work dungeon. Make your way through the dungeon until you find Johanna’s armor marked with a blue diamond on the minimap. Speak with Tomyris, then with Johanna to finish the quest. |
| 2 | The Heretic | Speak with Vass in the capital city of Zarbinzet. Travel northeast to reach the marked area within the Abandoned Ruins and slay the horde of demons. Speak with the frightened girl after she stops running. Collect the Withered Plant, Dying Plant, and Singed Plant within the blue circle marked area. To quickly escort Aneta back to Zarbinzet, use the fast-travel waypoint. Speak with Aneta in Zarbinzet. Head southeast to the marked area and enter The Forgotten Cave. Watch the short cutscene with Aneta and the villagers, slay the demons, then talk to her to finish the quest. |
| 3 | A Price to Pay | After completing The Heretic side quest, speak to Vera and Suzana in Zarbinzet. Find the Wejinhani Dispensatory book in the room with the Weapon Vendor. Travel to the Blind Borrows dungeon and speak with Aneta near the entrance. Then, enter the Blind Borrows and kill Spiders until you’ve collected 8 Spider Venom. Return to Aneta outside of the dungeon and speak with her. Talk to Gulyas near the boiling pot to conclude the quest. |
| 4 | Poisoned Hearts | Once you’ve finished A Price to Pay side quest, speak with Vera near the entrance of the Blind Borrows dungeon. Pick up Aneta’s Keepsake on the ground in front of Vera. Find Aneta in the circle marked area and interact with the three strange braziers surrounding Aneta. Talk to Aneta and Gulyas. Gather 4 Rotten Livers in the marked area with Aneta. Head to the marked location and enter the Hidden Glade dungeon. Follow Aneta until you reach the altar and speak with Gulyas. Kill enemies within the circle to fill the Blood Altar. Follow Aneta out of the dungeon and back to the marked location in the Rustwash area. Travel west to the marked location in Gulyas’ Hovel and read Aneta’s Letter to finish the quest and The Heretic questline. |
| 5 | Coiled Grasp | Speak with Crusader Warwick in Zarbinzet. Head east to the marked location and inspect Crusader Berolt’s corpse. Read Berolt’s Orders to complete the side quest. |
| 6 | To Walk a Dark Path | Speak with Father Dymus in Zarbinzet. Find The Decaying Farmstead in the southwest part of the highlighted area on your map. Slay the enemies and pick up the randomly dropped Lockbox Key. Open the Forgotten Lockbox and read Symon’s Journal page. Head to Tirbault’s Grasp in the Fethis Wetlands area and speak with the Frightened Pilgrim. Defeat the pilgrims and talk to the Frightened Pilgrim again. Question the pilgrims a couple of times to finish the side quest. |
| 7 | At Any Cost | After completing the To Walk a Dark Path side quest, head northeast to the marked area and find the Strange Refuge cellar. After you enter the Strange Refuge, slay the wildlife and investigate the campsite. Speak with the Groaning Corpse, defeat him, and collect the Acolyte’s Head. Collect the Half-Melted Candles and place three candles in the highlighted spots. Then, place the Acolyte’s Head on the highlighted spot. Speak to the Acolyte’s Head to begin the ritual and complete the quest. |
| 8 | Turbulent Waters | Once you’ve finished At Any Cost side quest, travel southeast to Backwater and ask the locals marked on the map about Elias. Buy the Cerrigar Red Sky from Nivro, the rings & amulets vendor. Find Sev south of Backwater and give him the Cerrigar Mead. Talk to Sev one more time to finish the side quest. |
| 9 | By Three They Come | After finishing the Turbulent Waters side quest, speak with Sev outside Esret in the Plains of Attrition area. Go to the marked location on the map and enter the Halls of Dark Portent dungeon. Make your way through the dungeon by breaking down doors and slaying ghouls until you reach the boss’s lair. Defeat the Blood Echo and inspect Symon’s corpse lying against a pillar. Collect Symon’s Tattered Journal and return to Father Dymus in Zarbinzet to complete the quest and the To Walk a Dark Path questline. |
| 10 | Overstepping the Mark | Buy the Thieves Guild Emblem from Mislan, the Rings & Amulets Vendor in Zarbinzet. Travel east to Backwater and give the Thieves Guild Emblem to Lyndon to conclude the side quest. |
| 11 | Flesh and Blood | Speak with Yonca in the Light’s Wane area. Bring Yonca into the farmhouse to the northwest and speak with her inside. After you interact with the four highlighted objects inside, talk to Yonca. Go to the marked area, interact with Kaan’s corpse, and pick up the Windchime Strikers. Give the windchime parts to Yonca, move to the small marked area, and protect her while she’s fixing the windchime. Once more, head to the newly marked area and protect Yonca while she’s fixing the last windchime. Return to the farmhouse with Yonca and talk to her to finish the quest. |
| 12 | The Swamp’s Protection | Speak with Timue in the Timue’s Hovel area. Open Timue’s Chest behind her and pick up Timue’s Supplies. Find Baridan, Duraya, and Raldin within marked areas of the Blightmarsh subregion and speak with them. After talking with Raldin, travel northwest to find the bandit camp in the Exiles’ Heap area. Kill all the bandits in the camp and return to Timue in her hovel to complete the side quest. |

| 16 | Necrotic Research | Speak with Gulyas in the Gulyas’ Novel area. Head southwest to the marked area and kill enemies marked with red dots for 1 Necrotic Flesh and 5 Snake Venom. Return to Gulyas’ Hovel and talk to Gulyas to end the side quest. |
| 17 | Bad Blood | After completing the Necrotic Research side quest, speak with Gulyas again. Take Gulyas’ Potion and find the bandit camp in the marked area within Manhunter’s Hollow. Add Gulyas’ potion to the Cookpot and go to the hiding spot northwest of the cookpot, behind the overturned boat. Travel west and find the cultist camp in the marked area within The Molting Shore. As before, add Gulyas’ potion to the Cookpot and go to the hiding spot north of the cookpot, between the bushes. Return to Gulyas’ Hovel and speak with her to finish the quest. |

| 20 | Dead in the Water | Speak with Tomaj in Backwater. Head south to the marked area and kill Drowned enemies until you’ve collected 10 Salvaged Resources and help Tomaj burn 3 Fresh Corpses. Speak with the stranded survivor, Ervin. Return to Backwater with Tomaj and Ervin, then talk to Tomaj and Szilvia to conclude the quest. |
| 21 | Brought to Heel | Speak with Lumir at Backwater. Head to the center of the marked area and interact with the Wild Red Mushrooms to collect a red mushroom. Return to Backwater and talk to Lumir to finish the side quest. |

Travel northeast to the marked location and speak with Lyndon’s Contact. Slay the Backwater Traitors and talk with Lyndon to conclude the side quest. |

After you wait for the ambush, speak with Lyndon. Travel to the final marked location and enter the Isolated Shack. Wait for the ambush, slay the enemies, and talk with Lyndon to finish the side quest. |

| 26 | Tangled Memories | Speak with Kres in the Immurement of Thorns area. Head south to the marked area and find a Puffball Reed near the center of the area. After you gather the Puffball Reed, fast-travel to the waypoint in Backwater and speak with the 3 NPCs marked on the map. Go to the marked location and place the flowers at Katherina’s grave, then talk with Kres back in the Immurement of Thorns area to finish the quest. |
| 27 | Growing Reminders | After finishing the Tangled Memories, speak with Kres again in the Immurement of Thorns area. Interact with Kres and go through both dialogue options to obtain the Stolen Idol. Travel south to the marked location and deliver the Stolen Idol to Timue. Kill Nangari Spitters in the marked area until you’ve collected 10 Marsh Snake Venom. After you give Timue the Marsh Snake Venom, pick up Timue’s Salve off the table and give it to Kres back in the Immurement of Thorns area to end the quest. |
| 28 | Unearthed Regrets | Once you’ve finished the Growing Reminders side quest, speak with Kres one more time in the Immurement of Thorns area. Travel to the southeast part of the marked area and interact with the Shallow Grave to acquire the Exsanguinated Remains. Then, burn the Exsanguinated Remains at the marked location south of Backwater. Finally, return to Kres and speak with him to finish the quest. |
| 29 | Heart’s Burden | Pick up the Rusted Dagger after you interact with the Child’s Corpse in The Swamp of Vanished Souls area. Use the fast-travel waypoint to reach Wejinhani and speak to Damen to conclude the quest. |
| 30 | Traveler’s Superstition | Interact with the Hastily Scrawled Note in the Bosun’s Woe area. Open the Emote Wheel by pressing Dpad Up (PS/Xbox) or E (PC) and perform the Hello Emote in front of the statue. Open the Hidden Chest to complete the side quest. |
| 31 | Ire of the Witch | Speak with Zurke in the Zurke’s Hut area. Head to the southeast part of the marked area in Sodden Graveyard and pick up Samil’s Corpse. Return to Zurke, talk to him, and place Samil’s Corpse on the highlighted spot to end the quest. |
| 32 | Perceived Threat | After completing the Ire of the Witch side quest, speak with Zurke again in his hut. Head to the marked area and collect the Uncorrupted Flesh from the 3 Experimental Corpses. Return the sample to Zurke to finish the side quest. |
| 33 | Song of Rot | Once you’ve finished the Perceived Threat side quest, talk with Zurke in his hut. Travel northeast to the marked area and slay the Blood Fungus Host (Elite). Pick up the Blood Fungus and head south to the marked area to find Zurke. Place the Blood Fungus on Samil’s corpse and speak with Zurke. Protect Zurke as he completes the ritual, then speak with him to complete the side quest. |
| 34 | Drink to the Past | Pick up the Kingsport Ale randomly dropped from chests in the Rotspill Delta subregion of Hawezar. Bring the Kingsport Ale to Lyndon in Backwater to finish the side quest. |

| 36 | Gift of the Swamp | Speak with Marta in the Path of Desperation area. Bring Marta northwest to Yolanda, south of the Wejinhani waypoint. Slay the Plague Maggot Young to complete the side quest. |
| 37 | Fungal Remedies | Once you’ve completed the Gift of the Swamp side quest, speak to Yolanda in the Path of Desperation area. Head west to the blue marked area and enter the Pilgrim’s Cave. Kill the Giant Bats inside the dungeon until you’ve collected 10 Gano Fungus. Exit the dungeon and speak with Yolanda in Wejinhani. Add the Gano Fungus to the pot in the middle of the room, administer the medication to Thanak and Jana, then give Yolanda the medicine to finish the side quest. |
| 38 | Heart of Mold | After finishing the Fungal Remedies side quest, speak with Yolanda in Wejinhani. Go to the marked location and take the Grotesque Head from the Grotesque Trophy. Travel to the northern part of the marked area, place the Grotesque Head in the Offering Bowl, and light the 2 Mossy Torches, then speak with Zurke. Go to the marked area, find Nuroth the Vile Fang, and slay him to claim his Oversized Snake Eyes. Return to Zurke and place the Oversized Snake Eyes on the Decaying Animal Corpse. Take the Moldy Heart off the ground and bring it to Yolanda in Wejinhani to end the quest. |
| 39 | Desperate Remedies | Speak with Elder Lau in Wejinhani. Speak with the other 3 Elders: Geza-Dali, Akos, and Oranii. Return to Elder Lau and report your findings. Go to the easternmost pyre in the second marked area and interact with the corpse for Brecht’s Journal. Speak with Eldar Lau near Brecht’s Corpse. Travel northwest to the marked location and enter Light’s Refuge dungeon. Make your way to the end of the dungeon to encounter Aldara (Elite). Kill her and pick up Aldara’s Amulet she dropped. Talk to Elder Lau in the Elderwood Grove area. Place the Aldara’s Amulet on the altar, and speak again to Elder Lau to complete the side quest. |

| 41 | A Question of Self | Speak with Elder Oranii in the Ruined Tower area. Interact with Taissa’s Journal for clues. Head east to the marked location and enter the Hungering Swamp dungeon. Make your way through the dungeon, slay the Shades of Grief, and check on Taissa in the hovel. Then, slay more Shades of Griend and destroy the Chains of Anguish. Speak with Taissa in the hovel. Leave the dungeon, and speak with Taissa outside to end the quest. |
| 42 | Past Regrets | After finishing A Question of Self side quest, head to the marked location and speak with Timue. Open the Old Trunk nearby and collect the Mark of the Conclave. Meet Taissa at the Tree of Whispers. Kill Nangari Oracles within the marked area until you’ve collected 4 Oracle Eyes. Bring the Oracle Eyes to Taissa and enter the Eldritch Conclave. Speak with Taissa inside and light the 4 Braziers. Speak with Timue in the middle of the ritual to complete the quest. |

Reach Elias’ Sanctum area and talk with Taissa, then slay the demonic manifestations. Interact with the Ritual Flames behind the Bookshelf to reach The Temple of The Primes. Reach the Altar of Sacrifice area and talk with Taissam, then slay the demonic manifestations. Interact with the Ritual Flames behind the Heavy Iron Door to reach the Blasted Scarp. Speak with Taissa and slay the demonic manifestations, then defeat the Whisper of Andariel (Elite). Interact with the Ritual Flames and speak with Taissa back in the Ruined Tower to conclude the quest. |
| 44 | Closing the Book | After conquering Eriman’s Pyre Stronghold, speak with Elder Akos in Wejinhani. Travel east to the marked location in Eriman’s Pyre, and talk to Elder Akos. Collect the 4 ledger pages by interacting with Smoldering Tomes within the blue circle marked area on your map. Speak with Elder Akos back in Wejinhani to end the side quest. |
| 45 | Glittering Abundance | Pick up the Gem-Laden Geode randomly dropped when searching the Glittering Ore Veins in the Umir Plateau, Fethis Wetlands, or Dismal Foothills subregions of Hawezar. Speak to Tungal in Ked Bardu, then buy Acid Flux from Mislan in Zarbinzet. Interact with Mislan’s Tools to open the geode and complete the quest. |
| 46 | Chained Zakarum Repository | Pick up the Chained Zakarum Repository randomly dropped when searching corpses in the Dismal Foothills subregion of Hawezar. Defeat Fallen and Burned enemies in the marked area to harvest lingering essence. Fill the quest progress bar to finish the side quest. |
| 47 | Lost Legacy | Speak with Ksenia in the Ruins of Rakhat Keep area. Go to the marked location and talk with Ksenia again. Enter the Defiled Halls and read the Urgent Letter. Further ahead, inspect the paladin remains and defeat Mathias, the Corrupted Paladin, then speak with Ksenia and collect Mathias’ Betrayal. Slay Eleazar (Elite) to collect Eleazar’s Choice, and slay Alodia (Elite) to collect Alodia’s Wrath. Make your way through the dungeon and place the 3 cursed blades for Ksenia’s ritual in the marked locations. Speak with Ksenia to begin the ritual. Defeat Carthas, the Corrupted Paladin, and talk with Ksenia to end the quest. |
| 48 | Left Behind | After conquering the Vyeresz Stronghold, speak with Mateen near the campfire. Go to the marked location and enter the Shadowed Plunge dungeon. Make your way through the dungeon until you find Derin and give him a Healing Potion. Return to Mateen in Vyeresz and talk with him to conclude the quest. |
| 49 | Lost Cause | After conquering the Vyeresz Stronghold, speak with Erdener. Kill Cultists in the marked area of Reach of Adulation until you’ve collected 10 Zakarum Prayer Amulets. Return to Erdener in Vyresz and talk to him to complete the quest. |
