Diablo 4 By Three They Come is a side-quest you need to finish if you want to achieve 100% completion in the Hawezar region.

In By Three They Come, the last quest of the To Walk a Dark Path questline, you finally learn what happened to Curate Symon, whom you were asked to find by Father Dymus.

However, Three They Come, which is part of the 49 Hawezar side-quests, can get tricky because you need to fight a pretty powerful boss enemy at the end.

But don’t worry, as we got you covered, and throughout the walkthrough below, we’ll provide all the needed instructions to help you complete D4 By Three They Come side-quest.

How To Start By Three They Come Quest in Diablo 4

As mentioned, By Three They Come is part of a questline, so to start it, you first need to complete the previous quest, named Turbulent Waters.

Keep in mind that the questline is available in Act 5, in the Hawezar region.

When you are all set and finished the Turbulent Waters side-quest, you must find Sev outside Esret, who will help you track down Elias and Symon.

Sev is waiting for you in the Plains of Attrition on the south side of the Fethis Wetlands area, as shown on the following D4 map.

Upon talking to the NPC, who is a little shaken up, you have to enter the Esret Chapel, which is located to the west.

Make sure to follow the blue marker on the minimap to find the Chapel quickly.

Then get inside the Chapel and enter the Halls of Dark Portent through the hole in the ground, leaving Sev behind.

Now you must search for traces of Elias; as such, proceed through the linear dungeon until you reach a huge engraved stone door.

The problem is that the door is closed, and you must destroy it, but be careful, as you’ll get attacked by a bunch of ghouls, including two Elites.

After you slay all the enemies and finally destroy the door, you must continue to get to a larger area, which is actually the place where Elias summoned Lilith.

Not much time to admire the scenery because the powerful boss enemy we talked about earlier will attack you now.

Note that the boss, Blood Echo, is quite tanky, but we have faith you’ll eventually slay him.

Once you’re victorious, pick up the loot and head to the blue marker on the minimap to sadly find Symon’s corpse leaning against a pillar.

To continue, interact with the corpse to obtain Symon’s Tattered Journal, and after, you can return to Father Dymus to give him the bad news.

Well done, our Nephalem friend! You’ve completed Diablo 4 By Three They Come quest and received the following: Gold, XP, Renown points, and the One-Eyed Swordsman’s Blade. Now you can focus on other Hawezar side-quests, like The Swamp’s Protection.
