Tangled Memories is a Diablo 4 side-quest you can complete in Act 5 of the video game released by Blizzard Entertainment on June 6, 2023.

Diablo 4 Tangled Memories is one of the 49 Hawezar side-quests, and they are all mandatory, assuming you’re a completionist.

The Tangled Memories quest can be difficult if you don’t pay close attention to your surroundings because you need to find a specific flower.

Therefore, it would be best to check the walkthrough below and learn how to complete D4 Tangled Memories side-quest quickly.

How To Start Tangled Memories in Diablo 4

In order to play Tangled Memories, you must first finish The Slow Beating Heart Act 5 main-quest in the Hawezar region.

Then you have to head to the Immurement of Thorns in the northwestern corner of The Writhing Mire area and talk to Kres, the quest giver, who is surrounded by vines.

The NPC will ask you to deliver his daughter Katherina her favorite flower, the puffball reed, and tell her it is from her dad.

You decide to help, as Kres clearly can’t do this on his own, so let’s see where you can find a puffball reed.

After finishing your discussion with poor Kres, you can open your map to see a search area.

As you probably guessed, you can find the flower somewhere within the search area, and if you want to go to it directly, don’t hesitate to check the next map.

Once you get to the spot, you should see the purple flower in front of a wooden bridge, as shown in the following image.

Now interact with the flower to add it to your inventory, then you must ask around the town of Backwater for Katherina.

As you can see, Backwater is found in the southeastern part of the region and has a Waypoint you can use to fast travel, provided you have it unlocked.

When you reach the town, you can ask three NPCs about Kres’s daughter, but only Seni, the one east of the Waypoint, will help you complete the current objective.

Note that each NPC has a blue marker on the minimap so you can find all of them easily.

Seni will tell you that Katherina died long ago and is buried out back under the memorial wall if you want to pay your respects.

As such, follow the blue marker on the minimap to get to where Katherina was buried and interact with the spot to place the puffball reed flowers.

To continue, head back to Kres and tell him Katherina has been dead for many years, but at least the flowers are delivered.

Once you’re done speaking with Kres, who you’ve made even sadder, Diablo 4 Tangled Memories quest ends, and you receive Gold, XP, Renown points, and a Cache. But you’ve now unlocked another quest you can start by talking to Kres, named Growing Reminders.
