Diablo 4 Necrotic Research is a gather quest available in Hawezar, the fifth region of the video game released by Blizzard Entertainment on June 6, 2023.

Of course, just like with all 49 Hawezar side-quests, you’ll be rewarded for your effort and receive Gold, XP, Renown points, and a Cache if you complete the quest.

In the Necrotic Research side-quest, you must help Gulyas, a woman NPC, with her Nangari research.

Now, if you want to complete D4 Necrotic Research side-quest without encountering any problems, don’t hesitate to check our walkthrough below.

How To Start Necrotic Research Quest in Diablo 4

To start the quest, you must first reach the Hawezar region after progressing with the main story all the way to Act 5.

Then you must complete The Heretic questline, where you meet Gulyas for the first time.

Thus, after finishing Poisoned Hearts, which is the last quest of the questline, you need to go to Gulyas, who can be found in her hut in the southwestern part of the Forsaken Coast area.

On the following map, we’ve pinpointed the exact location of the quest giver.

When you are all set and get to Gulyas, she will tell you that she has a task for you.

The NPC needs your help for her research, so she wants you to get some Snake Venom and the Necrotic Flesh of one of the minions of the powerful Nangari Necromancer, which lives in the Fens.

As such, let us see where you can find these quest items precisely.

Upon discussing with Gulyas, go ahead and open your map to see the quest’s two search areas in the middle of the Toxic Fens.

You can also check our D4 map below for the locations of the two search areas.

The quest's two search areas are found in the middle of the Toxic Fens

You should start with the smaller search area (the round one), where you can find the Nangari Necromancer and its minions.

The Nangari Necromancer and its minions is found in the smaller (round) search area

After slaying the Elite enemy and the minions, you’ll get the Necrotic Flesh and some Snake Venom if you are lucky.

However, you need a total of five units of Snake Venom; hence, go to the bigger search area and slay the mobs marked with red dots to get more venom.

The Snake Venom has a pretty big drop chance, so you will be done with the objective in no time.

Once you have the Necrotic Flesh and the five units of Snake Venom, make your way back to Gulyas, who will be pleased with what you have brought and will tell you to wait for a moment because then, she will need you again.

But Diablo 4 Necrotic Research ends, and if you want to continue assisting Gulyas, talk to the NPC to start the Bad Blood side-quest.
