The main difference is that the Budding Crimson Thorn quest item only drops from a specific type of herb in Hawezar.

How To Start the One Little Red Sprig Quest in Diablo 4

To begin the D4 One Little Red Sprig quest in Diablo IV, one needs to find and collect the Budding Crimson Thorn quest item.

The Budding Crimson Thorn quest item only drops when searching Angelbreath plants in the Hawezar region.

But before you start looking for Angelbreath plants, it is necessary to finish The Swamp’s Protection side quest from Timue.

We found the Budding Crimson Thorn item in The Rustwash area of the Forsaken Coast subregion, as shown in the image below.

As you probably know, all the plants, chests, and corpses are randomly spawned across the map, meaning there’s a low chance of finding the Angelbreath plant in the same place.

Where To Find Timue in Diablo IV

After acquiring the Budding Crimson Thorn, head towards Timue’s Hovel and have a conversation with her about the crimson herb.

When you ask Timue about the crimson herb, she warns you not to touch it and expresses disbelief that you don’t know what it is.

Timue then reflects on how people often fail to understand how someone like her ended up in their current condition. She suggests that some people believe it is a punishment for a perceived problem but that this belief serves as a way to distance themselves from the possibility of facing a similar fate.

Then, Timue emphasizes the importance of recognizing that everyone is just a tiny step away from danger and urges you to remember this to develop compassion.

After she finishes scolding you for being ignorant and ending the One Little Red Sprig quest, you will be rewarded with XP, Gold, a Herb Cache, as well as 20 Renown Points for the Hawezar region.
