Diablo IV The Heretic: Where To Find the Flowers

July 12, 2023

The Heretic is a Diablo 4 side-quest, the first of the questline with the same name, in which you must investigate a spate of deaths in the Umir Plateau area of the Hawezar region.

As such, Diablo 4 The Heretic is also part of the 49 Hawezar side-quests, and it’s a must for all the completionists.

Note that Heretic quest is quite long, and some of its objectives can be tricky if you don’t have a keen eye.

Thus, you should check our walkthrough below if you are stuck at any point in D4 The Heretic side-quest.

How To Start The Heretic Quest in Diablo 4

The quest is available from the start of Act 5, and to start it, you must travel to the town of Zarbinzet in the southern part of the Umir Plateau area.

When you get to the spot marked on the D4 map above, you’ll find a couple of terrified villagers.

One of the villagers is named Vass, and he tells you there is a powerful evil killing folks.

The NPC also asks if you can look for survivors near the old ruins to the northeast.

After finishing your conversation with Vass, you must head to the Abandoned Ruins on the east side of the Umir Plateau area.

The Abandoned Ruins are located on the east side of the Umir Plateau area

When you reach the east side of the search area pinpointed above, you’ll get attacked by demons which will be marked with red dots on your minimap.

Upon slaying the demons, you must head to Faith’s Edge and speak with the frightened girl standing in front of a tree.

We’ve marked the exact location on the next map.

The girl is named Aneta, and she will tell you that she was looking for flowers for her mother before the demons appeared.

Because Aneta’s mother is sick, the girl can’t go home empty-handed.

So, you decide to help the girl get the flowers just in case more demons attack.

To continue, you need to help Aneta gather a total of three flowers, and if you open your map, you’ll see a search area around your current location.

As you probably guessed, the flowers can be found in the said search area, and if you have no luck locating them yourself, make sure to refer to our map below.

Now that you’ve obtained the flowers, you must escort Aneta to her mother’s house in Zarbinzet.

The house is found on the north side of the town, as you can see in the screenshot below.

However, when you reach the place, and Aneta gives the flowers to her mother, things don’t go as you would think.

The mother, Vera, throws the flowers into the fire, and then a couple of villagers enter the house accusing Aneta of being a heretic because it seems she is to blame for the recent deaths.

The girl runs away with the villagers following her, and the mother doesn’t seem to care too much.

Now you must open your map to see another search area in The Fallow Tillage east of Zarbinzet.

Your objective is to find Aneta within the search area, and if you want to be fast about it, check the following map.

Once you get to the spot, enter the Forgotten Cave, where you must save Aneta from the villagers.

However, Aneta screams, turning the villagers into Ashen Figures.

The problem is that you’ll get attacked by a bunch of demons, but nothing too hard for you to handle.

Next, speak with Aneta yet again to see if she is all right, and she will start crying, asking you to tell her mother she is sorry.

Then she will run away as she doesn’t want to hurt you too.

Here is where Diablo 4 Heretic ends, and you receive XP, Gold, Renown points, and a Cache. But if you want to see what happens with Aneta, you should start the next quest in the questline, named A Price to Pay.
