Diablo IV In Desperate Times: Where To Find the Watcher

Diablo 4 In Desperate Times is a short side-quest you can complete in the Caldeum area of the Kehjistan region.

Considering that you can enter Caldeum only after reaching Act 6, you have to play most of the D4 story to start In Desperate Times side-quest.

Keep in mind that Desperate Times is part of the 44 Kehjistan side-quests, which are not mandatory for the main story, but you still need to finish them if you are a completionist.

Also, the quest can definitely be a head-scratcher as it doesn’t explain what you have to do exactly.

Therefore, make sure to check the walkthrough below if you can’t figure out how to complete D4 In Desperate Times side-quest.

How To Start In Desperate Times Quest in Diablo 4

If you want to start In Desperate Times, you must first progress with the story until you complete the What Lies Ahead main-quest in Act 6.

Then you must make your way to Caldeum in the middle of the Kehjistan region, preferably by using the Imperial Library Waypoint, if you have it unlocked, on the north side of the town.

If not, fast travel to the closest Waypoint and then get on your trusty mount to ride the rest of the distance.

Once you’ve reached the town, you must interact with the book named On Caldeum’s Defenses, which is found on the barricade right next to the Waypoint.

Now if you interact with the book, the treatise on the city’s fortifications, you will get the next message:

And when all is lost, stand before the golden watchers at the palace gates, plead for their help, and be armed.

To continue, you need to find the golden watchers mentioned in the book.

Where To Find the Watchers In Diablo 4

Upon closing the book, you can open your map to see a small search area south of the Imperial Library Waypoint.

As such, head to the search area and stand in front of the weird creature statue, just like in the screenshot below.

Then you must perform the Help Emote to spawn a Mysterious Chest next to the statue.

In case you forgot how to do an Emote in the video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment, you must press the Up on your PlayStation/Xbox controller, select the slot that says Help from the list ( use / and / if needed), and press / to confirm.

Finally, interact with the Mysterious Chest to complete Diablo 4 Desperate Times quest and get some loot, XP, Gold, and Renown points. But now you can focus on another Kehjistan side-quest, like An Errant Flock, available in the Caldeum area as well.
