Diablo 4 Exhuming Faith is a side-quest you can complete in Dry Steppes, the Act 3 region, provided you find the Blood-Splattered Scroll that will start the quest once you interact with it.

Exhuming Faith is one of the 38 side-quests available in Dry Steppes, and you’ll need to tackle all of them if you’re aiming for 100% completion in the region.

The quest is not that hard to complete if you know where you have to go; you basically have to follow instructions written on some scrolls and trail markers.

If you get lost along the way, we got you covered as always, and throughout the following walkthrough, we’ll explain how to complete D4 Exhuming Faith quest.

How To Start Exhuming Faith Quest in Diablo 4

The quest is available as you enter the Act 3 region, and it can be started by finding a Blood-Splattered Scroll.

The scroll is located just outside of Orbei Monastery on the east side of the Dindai Flats area, as shown on the D4 map below.

Once you reach the exact spot marked above, you’ll find the Blood-Splattered Scroll on the road with graves on both sides outside of the monastery.

If you interact with the scroll, you’ll get the next message:

“In my dreams, a figure bathed in Light, named Izzoth, came and spoke words of great power. I have written them down and placed the scroll at Khotun’s Reach where only the faithful will find it. Seek the first trail marker at the graveyard of ships.”

As instructed, you must find another scroll by first seeking a Trail Marker at a graveyard of ships.

Once you find the marker, you’ll have to look for a second one, then finally search for a scroll.

On the following map, we’ve marked the locations of both Trail Markers and the scroll in the order you must reach them.

Trail Markers and Strange Scroll locations map

After you get on the west side of The Scarred Coast area at the first location pinpointed above, you’ll find the first Zakarum Trail Marker next to a shipwreck, like in the next image.

The marker reads:

“Towards the light where the remains of our folly wander the twisted paths, seek the high place.”

So it seems the second marker is in a high place, more precisely, east, at the second location on the map above.

Upon reaching it and interacting with it, you’ll get another message:

“Up the coast to where we watched our brave crusaders set forth to western lands.”

Where To Find the Diablo 4 Strange Scroll

Finally, you must head north to the third spot pinpointed on our map, and you’ll find the Strange Scroll on a cliff.

If you are interested, note that you can find an Altar of Lilith near the scroll.

Finally, interact with the scroll to get the following message:

“You who have followed the path, speak the words of power given by the Light, and commune with the divine (The words are in a strange script and appear to move on the page).”

Then, immediately as you close the scroll, you’ll get attacked by Izzoth the Deceiver.

It seems demons are also scammers; who would have thought? No matter, show Izzoth he messed with the wrong person and send him back to wherever he came from.

After slaying the demon, you complete Diablo 4 Exhuming Faith and get rewarded with a Murmuring Cache, XP, Gold, and 20 Dry Steppes Renown points. However, you can start Firsthand Knowledge which is another quest available in the Dindai Flats area.
