Diablo 4 Votive Passing is a Scosglen side-quest available in the Wailing Hills area of the video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment, and it involves marking the resting sites of three lost hunters.
Diablo 4 lost hunters’ resting sites are a bit difficult to find if you don’t know where or what you are looking for; therefore, our Votive Passing walkthrough below guides you to their locations.
The Votive Passing side quest in Diablo IV also comes with a specific requirement you have to meet before being able to talk to Chieftain Asgail or the quest-giver who asks you to find the resting sites.
So, let’s see how to complete the Votive Passing quest in Diablo 4.
How To Start The Votive Passing Quest in Diablo 4
To be able to play the Votive Passing side-quest, first, you have to progress the Act 2 story by playing and completing the Parting Embers main quest; otherwise, Chieftain Asgail won’t ask you to find the missing hunters’ sites.
After finishing the Parting Embers quest, head to the small village of Braestaig in the Wailing Hills area of Scosglen, and you’ll find Asgail at the location marked below.
Chieftain Asgail is found in the small plaza northeast of Braestaig Waypoint. When talking to her, she’ll tell you that some hunters did not return from the hills nearby.
Their bodies were left behind for scavenging, which is not a fitting end for anyone, so Chieftain Asgail wants you to mark them with charms, thus securing a proper passage.
Your objective is to find the three lost hunters and mark their resting sites. Here is where to look for them.
Where To Find the Resting Sites of the Lost Hunters in Diablo 4
Diablo 4 Resting Sites are, in fact, the corpses of the lost hunters who were defeated north of Braestaig. After you start the quest while tracking it, check your map, and you’ll see a round search area you must explore.
When you enter that area, you’ll notice that the resting sites are a bit hard to find, mainly because of the environment. To help you locate them faster, check the locations map below.
When visiting the locations we have marked, look for corpses you can interact with to build Wards of Passing. Following the same order as the one on the map, you’ll find the lost hunters near:
- A stone wall on the eastern side of the search area
- A tent by a large tree
- A tree trunk near a rather large mountain wall
Once you build the three Wards of Passing, thus marking the Lost Hunters Resting Sites, you must complete another objective which involves finding the source of a voice you’ll hear.
The source of the voice in Diablo 4 Votive Passing is a wounded hunter you’ll find within a second search area. Specifically, at the end of a canyon, near a brazier.
Interact with the Wounded Soldier marked above, and you’ll receive a Handmade Torc.
The Diablo 4 Handmade Torc is a quest item you must deliver to an NPC named Maisie. If you wonder where to find Maisie, open your map and fast-travel back to Braestaig.
Maisie’s location is marked on your map, and you’ll find her south of the blacksmith. Talk to her and hand over the Handmade Torc to find out that she crafted the Torc to keep hunters safe. However, since you returned the Torc, it means that the item failed to protect its wearer, so now you’ll have two dialogue choices, and you must comfort Maisie:
- Airidah thought it was a necessary price to prepare for what is to come.
- Fearing the death of her people, Airidah only brought more in haste.
The dialogue option you pick is unimportant and will not change the outcome of the current quest or its rewards, but it will change several dialogue lines.
So feel free to pick the one you see fit to complete the Diablo 4 Votive Passing side quest and receive your rewards consisting of Gold, XP, Renown Points, and a Leather Cache.
