Cure For The Dead is one of the 47 God Of War Ragnarok Favours you can complete in the video game developed by Santa Monica, and one of the River Delta Favors you can start by talking to Mari at Pilgrim’s Landing in Vanaheim.
God Of War Ragnarok Cure For The Dead Side Quest is very short, provided you know where to find the items the spirit seeks, one of them requiring you to solve a small puzzle.
The GoW Ragnarok Cure For The Dead Favour is, as you can guess, mandatory for reaching 100% completion in the Pilgrim’s Landing area and the Vanaheim Realm.
So, if you wonder where to find the three Cure For The Dead Items for Mari, throughout the following guide, we’ll tell you where they are and how to solve the associated puzzle.
How To Start Cure For The Dead In Vanaheim
To start Cure For The Dead in God Of War Ragnarok, you first need to complete the 6th Main Quest named The Reckoning.
After the said quest, you’ll return to Freyr’s Camp, and you can navigate south to reach Pilgrim’s Landing.
Pilgrim’s Landing is a beach on the right side of the river as you move south. Upon docking the boat, clear the area and look for Mari, pictured below.
Talk to Mari, and she’ll ask you to find three ingredients for her cure:
- Mangold
- Mire
- Pome
Where To Find The Items The Spirit Seeks
Upon talking to Mari, it’s time to look around for her items. From Mari’s location, turn around and climb the ledge to reach the upper section of the ruins by the beach.
In front of you, there is a blocked bridge. Start by throwing Kratos’s Leviathan Axe at the locker on the right side.
The locker on the left side is hidden behind some brambles you’ll need to burn using Sigil Arrows (pink).
Shoot one arrow at the brambles and another one at the brazier to create a chain reaction.
Now, throw your Leviathan Axe at the locker to lower the bridge.
Cross the bridge, and when you climb the next ledge, you’ll find the first Cure For The Dead Ingredient on the ground.
Great job! Descend to the next area and deal with all enemies, starting with the Nokken.
After you kill all enemies, on the left side, you’ll see a small pond and a chest.
The second ingredient for Mari’s cure is in front of the chest.
The last ingredient you need to get is behind the bridge on the far side of the area where you found the second one. However, to lower the bridge, you’ll need to solve a puzzle, which is a bit different.
Start by looking at the wall on the right side of the bridge you have to lower. You should be able to spot more red brambles you need to burn. Follow the vines, and you’ll see a brazier you must ignite.
On the right side, you’ll notice a large tree (pictured below) and, on it, a support with two braziers. First, you’ll want to release the support by throwing the Leviathan Axe at the locker holding it.
After releasing the support, use the Blades of Chaos and pull the support to the right. This way, you’ll ignite the brazier on the right side of the support from the brazier on the right side of the ruins.
Now, you’ll want to transfer the fire to the brazier on the left side of the support.
Therefore, use the Sigil Arrows (pink) and first aim for the brazier on the left side. The second arrow should be placed in the middle of the support, while with the third one, you’ll want to hit the burning brazier.
After you light up the brazier on the left side, use the Blades of Chaos and move the support to the left, thus lighting up the brazier near the brambles.
Shoot one arrow at the brambles, and the next one at the burning brazier, creating a chain reaction. Now the fire will do the rest.
So, head back to the bridge and destroy the clamp on the right side, then jump over the gap.
When you cross the bridge, you’ll see the final ingredient on the right side, next to the Legendary Chest, which counts as one of the Pilgrim’s Landing Collectibles covered here.
Once you pick the final ingredient, head back to Mari, and give her the items.
