In Legend Of Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom, items like wood can prove really useful, provided you know how to get some when you need it.
As you probably guessed, wood comes from cutting down trees, which means if you either want to keep warm in cold weather or do some cooking, you’ll need to learn how to cut trees.
Finding trees is simple, but if you’ve just started playing the video game developed by Nintendo, you might not know how to take them down.
Therefore, in the Legend Of Zelda TOTK guide below, we’ll discuss everything you need to know about cutting trees and what to do with them.
How To Cut Trees In Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom
You’ll first learn how to cut trees upon completing the Ukoh Shrine shortly after starting your journey to find Princess Zelda.
While exploring the Great Sky Island area, you’ll come across a Maker Construct who is chopping down a tree, and if you talk with him, he will offer you an axe he is no longer using if you want to do some woodcutting yourself.
Hence you should grab the nearby stone axe, hold Right on your controller, select the weapon from the list, and let go of the button.
Now all you have to do is find a tree and cut it by spamming Y; it should take only two or three hits to take it down.
It’s good to know for the future that any axe will do the job and also any sword.
When you cut the tree into a log, you can also get additional items like Acorns, Apples, Korok Leaves, and Tree Branches.
Finally, you’ll get the much-needed wood if you hit the log with your axe or sword. You can get one or two bundles depending on how lucky you are.
Now you’re free to use the wood as you please.
You can also choose not to chop the log and use it in other ways.
For example, with the help of the Ultrahand Ability you’ve already unlocked while completing the Ukouh Shrine, you can use the log to make a small bridge or use two pieces and a fan to make a boat, as shown in the next screenshot.
Well done, you little lumberjack! You’ve learned how to cut trees in Legend Of Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom. But don’t forget to check our Wiki Page Hub here if you need further assistance with the game.
