The Flux Construct 1 is a mini-boss in Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom and is a mix of a puzzle and a boss battle.
The puzzle component comes into play when you must determine which section of the Flux Construct 1 to attack, and the boss fight component appears when you must attack that section with all of your resources.
Fortunately, you’ll only need one of Link’s new abilities to make this boss fight a piece of cake, and that is Ultrahand Ability, which can be unlocked by completing the Ukouh Shrine.
As such, we will provide you with a comprehensive guide on where to find and how to defeat Flux Construct 1 in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
Where To Find Tears Of The Kingdom Flux Construct 1 On Great Sky Island
The Flux Construct 1 mini-boss can be found on a circular arena on the Great Sky Island near the entrance to the Pit Cave, as shown in the image below.
It is also close to one of the Korok Seed Puzzles, where you have to reunite the two Koroks using the rails across the chasm.
There are many ways to reach the boss’s location. Still, the simplest and most commonly used method accessible to all players is to relocate the nearby platform and form a bridge using the Ultrahand Ability.
Also, it is worth mentioning that you may reencounter this mini-boss on the West Hebra Sky Archipelago in a similar setting.

Before confronting Flux Construct I in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, there are a few things we advise doing.
The Flux Construct is capable of causing significant damage, so make sure you have a couple of meals on hand. Check our Cooking guide here to learn how to prepare some meals to restore more health in the fight.
Make sure you have enough weapons, and they are in good condition before fighting the Flux Construct 1. Also, try to fuse them with anything on hand to deal more damage. It’s tough to beat, and you’ll have less chance of winning if you run out of weapons during the fight.
In order to defeat the Flux Construct 1, it is essential to equip the Ultrahand Ability. Equipping it beforehand in your ability slot can prove to be a significant time-saver during the fight.
When you are confident that you are sufficiently prepared, let’s see how to defeat Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Flux Construct 1.
If you want to defeat Flux Construct I quickly, your best bet is to target the shining green cube that holds the Construct’s Core. This cube is not only the Construct’s source of power but also the key to taking it down.
In order to target his core, you must patiently wait for the Construct’s attack. Its many attacks will expose the cube in different areas of its structure.
It’s up to you to locate the shining cube and strike it before the Flux Construct launches another attack.
We’ve listed below Flux Construct 1 each possible attack and where the shining cube will be concealed for each one.
Fist Slam Attack I
When facing Flux Construct I, be prepared for its attack of charging toward you and slamming both hands on the ground to crush you.
To avoid this, quickly move aside as it raises its arms. Keep a safe distance from the impact zone to avoid getting hurt by the shockwave.
When the Construct lands its fists on the ground, take advantage of this opportunity by using Ultrahand Ability to grab the shining cube on its arm. It is worth noting that sometimes the cube can be located on its feet.
Use the Ultrahand Ability to pull out the glowing cube to dismantle the Flux Construct 1 for a brief period of time, then attack the glowing cube while it’s on the ground.
Try to land on the cube as many hits as possible to deal a considerable amount of damage to the Flux Construct’s health before it assembles back.
Rubik’s Cube Attack I
During the Rubik’s Cube attack, it will roll around the arena in an attempt to squash you underneath it. While avoiding this attack, keep looking at the Rubik’s Cube.
It will eventually roll over, revealing the shining cube on the edge of one of the Rubik Cube’s sides. It can be in a corner or the middle.
As before, use the Ultrahand Ability to pill out the glowing cube and dismantle the Flux Construct while avoiding getting squashed.
Once the Rubik’s Cube is dismantled, land more hits on the glowing cube to take away more of its total health.
Floating Platform Attack
The Flux Construct 1 will hover above you and chase you around the arena during this attack.
Then it will then stretch out a line of its blocks and fire them at you. Fortunately, this move is sluggish enough for you to dodge it and avoid significant damage easily.
To reach the glowing cube beneath the floating platform, try this approach: allow the Construct to shoot its lines of blocks at you, then quickly go under the platform while the Construct is recharging.
After that, using the Ultrahand Ability, pull out the glowing cube from the platform and attack it again.
Fist Slam Attack II
After depleting a significant amount of Flux Construct I’s health and going through the first three attacks, it will reproduce its initial Fist Slam attack at a faster pace and relocate the glowing block behind its shoulders.
The Flux Construct will come toward you and pound its fists again. After it gets stuck in place for a little while, get closer to it and pull out the glowing cube behind its back.
But if you miss the chance to grab and pull out the cube, the Flux Construct 1 will perform another version of this attack with one arm, and you can try again. Try to be on the move all the time to avoid being squashed.
Rubik’s Cube Attack II
This particular attack is more complex than the previous ones. The Construct transforms into a giant Rubik’s Cube again, but the glowing cube is concealed within its center this time, making it harder to spot.
Maintain as much distance as possible from the Rubik’s Cube as it rolls around the arena, then use Ultrahand Ability to continuously grab and pull out the other blocks until you reach the center and find the glowing cube.
To defeat the Flux Construct 1 once and for all, pull out the glowing cube from the middle and keep attacking until its health bar is fully depleted.
Then, the glowing cube you’ve been fighting will drop a handful of Zonai Charges, Zonai devices, and a Flux Construct I Core.
Use the Fuse Ability to attach it to one of your decayed weapons and enhance its power significantly.
