While trying to find Greez in the Star Wars Jedi Survivor Gorge Crash Site area of Planet Koboh, you’ll eventually come across Tar Pit, where Cal Kestis must be extra cautious and solve a small puzzle involving several mines or bombs if you want.
The Tar Pit Bombs puzzle is mandatory for progressing the story and advancing through the Gorge Crash Site, but it can also be deadly because if you spend too much time in the Tar Pit, you’ll eventually drown.
Luckily the Tar Pit Mines, even though they are pretty dangerous, will help Cal escape the deadly black substance, and throughout the following guide, we’ll tell you how to tackle this puzzle and avoid being killed.
Where To Find The Tar Pit In Gorge Crash Site
As you can notice on the following map, the Gorge Crash Site Tar Pit is found close to the exit point towards the Derelict Dam.
On your map, this area has a dark violet color, and when you reach it the first time, you must find a way to cross it.
As said, this occurs during Cal’s first visit to Koboh Planet after escaping Coruscant. While moving towards Greez’s location, you’ll come across the black swamp filled with tar. Let’s see how to cross it.
How To Solve The Tar Pit Bombs Puzzle On Koboh
When you approach the Tar Pit, make sure you notice the metal platform floating in the middle of the black swamp.
From the yellow pipe, double jump towards it, then move as fast as possible and climb it.
While on the metal platform, the first thing you’ll want to do is to use BD-1 to scan the tar, unlocking one of the four Gorge Crash Site Databank entries.
Now, take a look around, and you should see two mines or bombs. These bombs will help you escape the deadly trap.
While facing one of them, press and hold 
/
on your PlayStation/Xbox controller to pull the bomb towards you. Now, press 
/
to quickly throw it at the crack in the dam nearby (pictured below).
The idea here is to release the tar behind the dam you blow up so that it fills the pit below, thus pushing up the platform you are standing on.
After pulling the bomb towards you, throw it as fast as possible; otherwise, it will explode, dealing a lot of damage.
Once you solve this little puzzle in the Tar Pit, you’ll reach the upper floor, where you’ll find a cute Pit Droid looking for help.
