Thymesia Sea Of Trees Destroy All Cysts Guide

Sea of Trees Sub Quest 1 Destroy All Cysts is one of the optional Thymesia objectives available to complete after you defeat the main boss named Odur and obtain his core during the “Search for the cores” primary objective.

Sea of Trees Destroy All Cysts’ optional objective features a different map structure from the one during the primary objective, with new elements, paths, and collectibles in a similar linear way but without a boss at the end. Still, it can be pretty confusing and overwhelming at first how to destroy the cysts without dying over and over again.

How To Destroy All Cysts in Sea of Trees

During the Sea of Trees Sub Quest 1 in Thymesia, you will have to destroy a total of six cysts, well scattered on the map and well guarded. These cysts release a toxic gas that, once you come into contact with it, a meter appears on the bottom of your screen, and if it fills up all the way, you will start taking damage and die in a couple of seconds.

Cyst #1

Start the Sea of Trees Sub Quest 1 Destroy All Cysts mission, activate the beacon nearby, and don’t forget to level up and tweak your talents according to your playstyle. From the beacon, walk past the tent on the left, hosting a flying daggers-wielding mini-boss, climb down the ladder, kill the knife-wielding enemy at the bottom, and by the end of the walkway, you will find below you, the first Sea of Trees Cyst.

Wait for the spear-wielding enemy to turn his back on you, jump down, dash towards the Cyst through the toxic mist using the dodge mechanic, and start smashing it using your daggers until it blows.

It is necessary to destroy the Cyst first to avoid getting killed by the toxic gas and have the possibility to move freely around the area without coughing.

Cyst #2

After you deal with the three enemies around the blown-up Cyst, cross the bridge nearby, kill the knife-wielding enemy on the left, and after a few steps ahead, you will find the second Sea of Trees Cyst. Before dashing towards the Cyst again and blowing it up, try to lure the two enemies to you out of the toxic mist to avoid getting intoxicated while fighting. Once you have killed them both, dash towards the Cyst through the toxic gas and start smashing it as we did before.

Cyst #3

Now, open the metal door, take out the knife-wielding enemy, jump down by the end of the walkway where you will encounter two more enemies, and find one of the Sea of Trees Stories – Note from an Unknown Hopeless 4. A few steps from the previous note, you will find the second beacon of this mission, where you can rest, level up your character, and tweak your talent build.

Right next to the beacon, you can already see the toxic mist coming from one of the Sea Of Trees Cysts, which is well guarded by enemies. As we did before, try to lure the enemies to you out of the toxic gas using the throwable feathers and deal with them one by one to avoid getting overwhelmed. After dealing with the enemies around the Cyst, dash towards it and take it out to stop the spreading plague.

Cyst #4

From the Cyst, proceed through the wooden structure, dealing with the corrupted knife-wielding enemy along the way, and cross the wooden bridge. By the end of the bridge, you can already see the toxic gas coming from one of the Sea of Trees Cysts and a corrupted spear-wielding enemy patrolling the area.

Be aware as you try to lure him out of the mist; you will trigger two more enemies that will start attacking you: a knife-wielding enemy on the left side and a handaxe-wielding enemy near the Cyst.

Once you kill all three enemies, dash towards the Cyst, take it out using your daggers, and collect the nearby Sea of Trees Story – Note from an Unknown Hopeless 05 off the table.

Cyst #5

Cross the nearby wooden bridge, and keep going down on the platforms around the huge tree trunk and dealing with the enemies along the way until you reach an intersection with two bridges. Take the first wooden bridge going down, and by the end of it, you will find the fifth Sea of Trees Cyst guarded by a corrupted shield-wielding enemy and two knife-wielding enemies. Since the enemies are unaware of your presence, you can rush the Cyst and destroy it in three hits, then deal with the enemies around or lure and kill them on the bridge, and then take the Cyst out. It’s up to you.

Cyst #6

Once you have destroyed the Sea of Trees Cyst, return to the previous intersection and take the other bridge up. By the end of the bridge, you will see a hammer-wielding mini-boss patrolling the area and a handaxe scavenging next to the final Sea of Trees Cyst on the left side of the platform. This time around, you will have to go straight for the Cyst first, then deal with the enemies around the area because if you try to lure them out of the toxic mist on the bridge, there is a high chance for the mini-boss to reset its health bar during the fight.

After you destroy the final Sea of Trees Cyst, a message will pop up on the screen saying, “RECALL COMPLETED,” and the Aisemy’s ghost form will appear near the blown-up Cyst, ready to take you back to the Philosopher’s Hill.
