Diablo 4 First Among Wolves is a tricky hybrid quest, first in a questline, available in The Downs area of the Scosglen region.

In First Among Wolves, you must help Artair, a male NPC, investigate why people are turning into Lycans in The Downs area.

As such, for First Among Wolves, which counts as one of the 47 Scosglen side-quests, you must find a couple of journals and defeat a bunch of mobs, which can be difficult.

Don’t worry, though, because, as always, we got you covered, and throughout the following walkthrough, we’ll provide step-by-step instructions to help you complete D4 First Among Wolves quest.

How To Start First Among Wolves Quest in Diablo 4

To be able to start First Among Wolves, you must meet a few requirements.

That is to reach Act 2 and the Scosglen area, then complete the Feral Moon side-quest.

When you are ready, you must find Artair, the quest giver, who is located in Wraithstead in the middle of The Downs area, as shown on the next map.

Upon talking to Artair, you learn that when the goatman problem got really bad in these parts, people began getting glimpses of werewolves hunting them.

The werewolves were first seen near Lorcan and Una’s place, and then people started feeling a call to join them in the hunt.

Some of them still resist, but for the ones that don’t, they never come back.

Something must be done until all the people are transformed, and Artair has a theory, so you need to help him search Lorcan and Una’s farm because it seems the whole thing started there.

To continue, you must head to the burned farm and start searching.

The farm is located in The Scorched Orchards on the southwest side of The Downs area.

Once you reach the spot, start looking for Una’s Journals, which are scattered around the search area.

We’ve marked their exact locations on the D4 map below.

The locations of the four journal entries in the Burned Farm

So following the same order as the one on the previous map, you must find the following:

  1. Una’s Journal: Entry 1
  2. Una’s Journal: Entry 2
  3. Una’s Journal: Entry 3
  4. Una’s Journal: Final Entry
Una's Journal: Entry 1 location

If you can’t see any journal at one of the said locations, start smashing the environment as it might be hidden.

Based on what you learn from the Journal, Una found a small wolf carving that made her and Lorcan shapeshift.

You barely get to speak with Artair, and you get ambushed by many Lycans.

Now your objective is to survive the attack.

Thus, defeat all the waves of werewolves, but be aware that on the last one, you’ll also get attacked by Lorcan, who is an Elite.

We have faith you’ll be victorious, and after, you must talk to Artair yet again.

The NPC will tell you that to reverse the curse, you’ll need to find Una’s wolf totem.

Also, you’ll need the following:

  • blood of the ally
  • blood of the enemy

These can be obtained by performing druid rituals in the Harrowfields and Wraithstead.

However, upon talking to Artair, you finish Diablo 4 First Among Wolves and receive a Cache, Renown points, Gold, and XP. But if you want to continue the questline, you must now complete The Snare quest.
