Diablo 4 Of Pests and Pestilence is a kill quest you can complete in the Scosglen region, and even if it’s not mandatory for the main story, it’s a must for the completionists.

In the Pests and Pestilence quest, the people in Tirmair have a fly swarm infestation, and you can help them to show off your exterminator skills.

The quest is pretty straightforward, but it’s not impossible to encounter difficulties while completing it.

As such, throughout the walkthrough below, we’ll provide all the instructions you need to finish D4 Of Pests and Pestilence quest, which counts as one of the 47 Scosglen side-quests.

How To Start Of Pests and Pestilence Quest in Diablo 4

To be able to play Pests and Pestilence, you need to progress with the story to Act 2 and reach the Scosglen region.

Then you must complete the Dark Omen main quest, and when you’re done, you need to travel to Tirmair on the south side of The Shrouded Moors area.

On the following map, we’ve pinpointed the quest giver’s exact location.

As you can see, there is a Waypoint in Tirmair you can use to fast travel, assuming you’ve already visited the settlement and unlocked it.

If not, start running or use your mount if you’ve completed the quest in Act 4 to unlock it.

Once you get to Tirmair, enter the Inn and look for Meav, an elderly woman NPC.

Upon talking to Meav, you learn that the people here are having a problem with fly swarms, and they did everything they could to get rid of the insects but had no luck.

The problem won’t go away by ignoring it, so this is where you come in and exterminate the insects for a modest reward, of course.

Now let’s see where you can find the fly swarms and continue with the quest.

Where To Find Stinging Swarms in Diablo 4

After finishing your conversation with the worried woman, you can open your map to see the quest’s search area covering all of The Shrouded Moor and Moordaine Lodge, just like in the screenshot below.

The quest's search area is covering all of The Shrouded Moor and Moordaine Lodge

You can also notice a bunch of red dots in the search area; each red dot represents a Stinging Swarm, and you must kill 75 of them.

Kill 75 Stinging Swarms in the search area

It seems a lot, but it won’t take too long as the swarms are pretty weak enemies.

The problem is that there are other types of mobs in the area, and it would be best if you could ignore them, but if not, have at them.

We suggest you don’t fight with one Stinging Swarm at a time because it would be a waste of time, but instead, run around and gather as many as you can in a bigger group, then destroy all of them with AoE abilities.

After taking out at least 75 Stinging Swarms, you can return to Meav and give her the good news.

Good job, Nephalem! You’re done with Diablo 4 Pests Pestilence side-quest and got the following: XP, Gold, Renown points, and a Cache. However, you can now focus on other side-quests in The Shrouded Moors area, like Settling the Tab.
