Sentimental Value is a tricky enough Diablo 4 gather quest that can be completed in Dry Steppes, the Act 3 region.

Diablo 4 Sentimental Value, which is part of the 38 Dry Steppes side-quests, will require you to help Ulagan, a male NPC, find the ring he inherited from his dead uncle.

However, the ring was buried for safekeeping, and you can have a tough time locating it if you’re not patient enough.

But as always, we’re here to help, and throughout the walkthrough below, we’ll provide step-by-step instructions for D4 Sentimental Value quest.

How To Start Sentimental Value Quest in Diablo 4

To be able to play Sentimental Value, you must first reach Act 3 and complete the Small Blessings main-quest.

Then you must head to the Hidden Overlook in the Jakha Basin area and find Ulagan in front of the entrance to the Guulrahn Slums dungeon.

If needed, check the following D4 map to see the exact location.

Luckily, Hidden Overlook has a Waypoint you can use to fast travel, assuming you’ve already visited the area and unlocked it.

Upon finding Ulagan, the quest giver, talk to him to learn that his uncle had perished in Guulrahn.

The good news is that the uncle always told Ulagan that he would inherit his ring if anything should happen to him.

But as mentioned, the ring was buried for safekeeping in Desolation’s Reach, which is a dangerous area.

Of course, you decide to help and offer to meet Ulagan in Desolation’s Reach on the south side of the Untamed Scarps area.

Now let’s see where to find Ulagan’s ring.

Where To Find Ulagan’s Uncle’s Heirloom in Diablo 4

First, talk to Ulagan at the location marked on the map above, then clear the area of mobs and start looking for the ring in the three search areas.

If you’re having no luck, we’ve pinpointed below the exact locations where you must search for the ring.

The three locations in Desolation's Reach where you must search for the ring

At the first location, you must interact with some Rubble to find nothing.

Same case for the second location, where you must interact with some Jars.

Sadly the third location has no ring either after interacting with a Rock Cairn.

Talk to Ulagan to give him the bad news, and as you do, a couple of bandits will approach you, claiming they have the ring.

Now you must fight the bandits to get the ring. Be careful with the Bandit Leader because he is an Elite enemy.

After defeating all of them, you can pick up Ulagan’s Uncle’s Ring from the ground and give it to its owner.

However, Ulagan is not happy at all with the ring because it’s not made out of real gold and decides to give it to you.

Ulagan also suggests you take the ring to a weird merchant in the Boiling Plains who collects all kinds of worthless stuff.

As such, travel to Fate’s Retreat on the west side of the Chambatar Ridge area, preferably using the Waypoint, and hand the ring to Rakhaan, the Curio Collector.

Congratulations are in order, friend, because you’ve just finished Diablo 4 Sentimental Value quest and received the following: Renown points, Gold, XP, and a Salvage Cache. Now you can focus on other Dry Steppes side-quests, like What Remains.
