Updated November 14, 2022

God of War Ragnarok Myrkr Tunnels is a region with a series of underground passageways in the Svartalfheim realm that you’ll visit for the first time alongside Freya during the Forging Destiny Main Quest.

As you progress through the God of War Ragnarok Myrkr Tunnels, you’ll be able to find the following collectibles:

  • 1 Nornir Chest
  • 1 Legendary Chest
  • 1 Yggdrasil Rift

All three God of War Ragnarok Myrkr Tunnels collectibles can be obtained on your first visit and do not require any special abilities or story progress.

If you missed any of the collectibles during your first visit and wish to return to Myrkr Tunnels, fast travel to the Nidavellir Beach Mystic Gateway in Svartalfheim and take the train up the hill leading to The Forge region (covered in-depth here).

After the train ride, follow the wooden path all the way to the end to find an opened dark hole in the ground leading to the Myrkr Tunnels.

So, let’s see where all God of War Ragnarok Myrkr Tunnels collectibles are located in the action video game developed by Santa Monica Studio.

Legendary Chest (Fog of Fimbulwinter): Hidden Behind Red Vines

After getting inside the Myrkr Tunnels in Svartalfheim at the start of the Forging Destiny Main Quest, make your way through tunnels until you meet with Sindri for a short conversation. Then, you will have to push the cart to his left to go further into the tunnels.

After passing the cart, take a left first and clear the red vines in your way by burning them to reveal the God of War Ragnarok Myrkr Tunnels Legendary Chest that contains the Fog of Fimbulwinter, a Heavy Runic Attack.

If you are wondering where you can find more Legendary Chests, check our God Of War Ragnarok Legendary Chests Locations Guide here.

Nornir Chest: In A Hallway

From the previous Legendary Chest, head back the other way, where you have to unlock a gate.

Grab the nearby chain and pull the door down, then shoot a sigil arrow at the gear above by pressing (L2) + (Square) and throw your Leviathan Axe to freeze it.

Retrieve your axe (the gear will still be frozen because of the sigil arrow) and throw your axe at the Twilight Stone mirror to destroy the clamp and open the gate.

In the next room, you’ll have to activate the water wheels to progress further.

So, throw your Leviathan Axe at the trough above the first one on the left to direct the water into the wheel.

God Of War Ragnarok Myrkr Tunnels Freeze Trough

Follow the path through the opened gate on the left to reach a hallway with the God of War Ragnarok Myrkr Tunnels Nornir Chest.

To open this Nornir Chest, you’ll have to ignite the three seal braziers using the Blades of Chaos. To ignite a seal brazier, press (L2) + (R2).

The first brazier is to the left of the chest in an area where your Blades of Chaos can’t reach it.

So, hit the keg on the right of the brazier to spill oil on the ground, then shoot sigil arrows around the oil and ignite them using your Blades of Chaos, which will cause a chain reaction that ignites the oil and the brazier.

The second brazier is in plain sight across from the Nornir Chest, making it impossible to miss.

The third brazier is located in an alcove of the tunnel across from the Nornir Chest (where you came from), hidden by a pile of wooden crates.

Break the crates and ignite the final seal brazier to open the chest and secure its treasures.

Yggdrasil Rift: After The Second Gate

After you open the second gate, The God of War Ragnarok Myrkr Tunnels Yggdrasil Rift will be straight in front of you at the end of the area.

Clear the two Bergsra monsters (a level 3 and a level 4) in the area, then interact with the Yggdrasil Rift to close it and receive a reward.
