Updated May 28, 2023

God Of War Ragnarok Nornir Chests are very similar to the ones from the God of War 2018, but this time around, they come with very powerful items you don’t want to miss.

As with other collectibles we have covered in our God of War Ragnarok Wiki Hub (Artefacts, for example), the Nornir Chests will help you reach 100% completion in the areas where they are found.

Even though you won’t unlock a specific trophy on PlayStation 4 and PS5 for finding all Nornir Chests in God Of War Ragnarok, the items you’ll get when you open them are tied to trophies.

The said items are the Apple of Idunn and the Horn of Blood Mead, both allowing Kratos to become even more powerful.

The God Of War Ragnarok Apple of Idunn is a unique item found exclusively inside Nornir Chests. Collecting them allows you to increase Kratos’ health.

The God Of War Ragnarok Horn of Blood Mead, on the other hand, is used to increase Kratos’ Rage Bar, and it is also a unique item found only in Nornir Chests.

Because the Idunn Appels and Blood Mead Horns act as upgrades for Kratos, it goes without saying that you’ll need to find as many Nornin Chests as possible.

If you have already played the previous God of War game, then you might remember that the Nornir Chests are also quite tricky to open because they involve small puzzles.

Some of these puzzles are timed, while others require you to find and destroy hidden Runes or light Braziers.

Furthermore, to reach some Nornir Chests in God of War Ragnarok, you’ll need specific equipment you’ll obtain only by progressing through the story.

This means that you won’t be able to open all 35 Nornir Chests during your first visit to the areas listed below. However, because of the items inside them, you’ll want to try opening as many as possible because they’ll make your journey easier.

God Of War Ragnarok Nornir Chests Locations

As mentioned, there are 35 God of War Ragnarok Nornir Chests available in the video game, and it’s worth knowing that the items you find inside alternate. Or simply put, if you open a chest in which you find an Apple of Idunn, the next Nornir Chest you open contains a Horn of Blood Mead.

Last but not least, since they count as collectibles that help you achieve 100% completion in the regions where they are found, the following list includes all areas you’ll want to explore and the associated Realms.

If you need additional help locating them, check the corresponding guides, which also cover the solutions to the puzzles you have to solve and the gear you’ll need.
