God of War Ragnarok The Final Challenges is the second Favour or Side Quest available in The Crucible region of the Mulpelheim Realm.
Also, GoW Ragnarok The Final Challenges Favor is one of the 47 Side Quests (check our full list here) that you must complete in order to achieve 100% game completion and unlock The Bear and the Wolf Platinum Trophy.
At first, starting and completing these Final Challenges can be confusing, but with the proper guidance, you’ll have them finished in no time.
So, here’s everything you need to know about how to complete The Final Challenges Favour in the video game developed by Santa Monica Studios for PS4 & PS5.
How To Complete The Final Challenges In Mulpelheim
After you complete the first six Crucible Challenges during The Crucible Favour we’ve covered here and open the Nornir Chest in the middle of the arena, another giant golden sword emerges behind the chest.
Interacting with this new golden sword will start God of War Ragnarok The Final Challenges Favour, which requires you to complete another six difficult Muspelheim Trials successfully.
To unlock any of the six Final Challenges at the new central golden sword, you’ll have to complete two Crucible Challenges from different golden swords.
For example, if you complete any Crucible Challenge at Sword 1 (Left – ᚨ) and then any Crucible Challenge at Sword 2 (Middle – ᚺ), you will unlock the Endurance Challenge (ᚨᚺ) at the central sword.
Therefore, each Final Challenge is a combination of two Crucible Challenges from different golden swords in a specific order, marked by the blue runes on the swords.
So, there are six combinations available to unlock all 6 Final Challenges, which are as follows:
- Sword 1 (Left – ᚨ) + Sword 2 (Middle – ᚺ) = Endurance Challenge (ᚨᚺ)
- Sword 3 (Right – ᚱ) + Sword 2 (Middle – ᚺ) = Boss Rush Challenge (ᚱᚺ)
- Sword 1 (Left – ᚨ) + Sword 3 (Right – ᚱ) = Shield Breaker Challenge (ᚨᚱ)
- Sword 3 (Right – ᚱ) + Sword 1 (Left – ᚨ) = Phantom Challenge (ᚱᚨ)
- Sword 2 (Middle – ᚺ) + Sword 1 (Left – ᚨ) = Ring of Fire Challenge (ᚺᚨ)
- Sword 2 (Middle – ᚺ) + Sword 3 (Right – ᚱ) = Onslaught Challenge (ᚺᚱ)
Also, each previous golden sword will have a 3rd Crucible Challenge available to complete, which we will go over to help you achieve 100% in the region overview.
Crucible Challenge 1: Rampage
From the freshly spawned golden sword, take the first path to the left (north), interact with Sword 1 (Left – ᚨ) and start the Rampage Challenge by holding (X).
For this God of War Ragnarok Crucible Challenge, you’ll have to defeat at least 20 enemies within 150 seconds.
There’s no catch here. Just simply kill the enemies as fast as you can to complete the trial.
Throughout the challenge, you’ll face a Troll and a Bergsra that you can choose to ignore while focusing on weaker enemies to complete it quicker.
After you finish the Rampage Trial, open the nearby Legendary Chest to receive the following rewards:
- Smoldering Embers
- 8 Asgardian Ingots
- 250 Divine Ashe
- 2,500 Hacksilver
Crucible Challenge 2: Health Steal
Once you’ve opened the Legendary Chest, exit this arena, climb the wall on the left and follow the path up to reach Sword 2 (Middle – ᚺ). Interact with the golden sword and start the Health Steal Challenge.
Through this GoW Ragnarok Crucible Challenge, you will have to defeat 22 enemies while taking constant damage, but your attacks will heal you back.
There is no special strategy here; kill the enemies as fast as possible, which will keep your health up.
Also, make sure to kill the Nokkens near the end of the challenge to prevent them from healing the remaining enemies.
After you complete the Health Steal Muspelheim Trial, open the Legendary Chest to get your rewards as follows:
- Blazing Embers
- 3 Luminous Alloy
- 250 Divine Ashes
- 2,500 Hacksilver
Final Trial 1: Endurance Challenge (ᚨᚺ)
Once you’ve completed a challenge at Sword 1 (Left – ᚨ) first and then a challenge at Sword 2 (Middle – ᚺ), return to the center sword to start the Endurance Challenge, one of the six God of War Ragnarok Final Challenges.
To complete this God of War Ragnarok Final Challenge, you’ll have to kill 99 enemies without dying. Easy, right?
There will be some elite enemies, but most will be regular enemies. The most important thing in this scenario is maintaining your health.
Using equipment or skills that help you heal could be beneficial, such as Spartan Valour, Nidavellir’s Finest, and Raven Tears Armor Sets.
Although this is a somewhat lengthy challenge, it should be feasible if you play cautiously and make the most of your skills.
Once you finish the Endurance Challenge, open the Legendary Chest to secure the following treasures:
- Blazing Embers
- 3 Smouldering Embers
- 1,000 Divine Ashes
- 20,000 Hacksilver
- Surtr’s Scorched Cuirass
Crucible Challenge 3: Kill Fuse
From the central sword, take the right path to reach Sword 3 (Right – ᚱ). Interact with the sword and start the Kill Fuse Challenge.
For this God of War Ragnarok Mulpelheim Trial, you’ll have to kill the enemies to increase the timer. You will start the challenge with 30 seconds, and you’ll have to kill 22 enemies.
For each enemy killed, you will receive between 5-10 seconds, depending on the enemy. There’s nothing special about this challenge; just kill the enemies as fast as possible.
Finishing the Kill Fuse Muspelheim Trial will give you access to the Legendary Chest with the following rewards:
- 4 Petrified Bone
- Glowing Embers
- 250 Divine Ashes
- 2,500 Hacksilver
Now that you’ve finished all three new Crucible Challenges, you can unlock the remaining 5 GoW Ragnarok Final Challenges by completing the quickest challenge at each combination mentioned above.
The fastest Crucible Challenges to do are Weapon Mastery at Sword 1 (Left – ᚨ), Feed The Rift at Sword 2 (Middle – ᚺ), and Population Control at Sword 3 (Right – ᚱ).
Final Trial 2: Boss Rush Challenge (ᚱᚺ)
Since we’ve previously finished the Kill Fuse Challenge at Sword 3 (Right – ᚱ), complete any Sword 2 (Middle – ᚺ) challenge, then head back to the central sword to start the Boss Rush Challenge.
For this Final Challenge, you’ll have to defeat five elite enemies, one at a time.
The elites you will encounter will be a Traveller, a Fierce Stalker, a Dark Elf Lord, a Light Elf Warrior, and an Einherjar Brute, in this order.
Use the same strategies you did against other enemies in the game because there is nothing special about them.
Since the only heal you will receive is from the items the enemies drop after being killed, you might want to play a little more carefully.
Once you’ve finished Boss Rush Challenge, open the Legendary Chest to get your rewards as follows:
- Smouldering Embers
- 2 Glowing Embers
- 3 Blazing Embers
- 1,000 Divine Ashes
- 20,000 Hacksilver
- Surtr’s Scorched Girdle
Final Trial 3: Shield Breaker Challenge (ᚨᚱ)
Complete any challenge at Sword 1 (Left – ᚨ), then at Sword 3 (Right – ᚱ) to unlock the Shield Breaker Challenge (ᚨᚱ) at the central golden sword.
In this Final Challenge, you’ll have to defeat groups of 3-4 regular enemies to break the elite’s enemy shield.
Below the enemy’s health bar, you’ll see a counter showing how many left regular enemies you have to defeat before going for the elite enemy.
Once you’ve killed the entire group of regulars, deal as much damage as you can to the elite enemy until another group of enemies spawns.
Throughout this Final Challenge, you will encounter two elite enemies: an Einherjar Champion, followed by a Stalker.
Once you complete the Shield Breaker Challenge, you will unlock the Legendary Chest containing the following rewards:
- Glowing Embers
- 2 Blazing Embers
- 3 Smouldering Embers
- 1,000 Divine Ashes
- 20,000 Hacksilver
- Muspelheim’s Force
Final Trial 4: Phantom Challenge (ᚱᚨ)
Complete any challenge at Sword 3 (Right- ᚱ), then at Sword 1 (Left – ᚨ) to unlock the Phantom Challenge (ᚱᚨ) at the central golden sword.
In this Final Challenge, you’ll have to deal with a Flame Phantom. Like other Phantoms in the game, you must hit its core to fill its stagger (white) bar, which is best done with ranged attacks.
After it staggers, the three purple pillars nearby will become vulnerable to attacks, and you must destroy them.
Regular enemies will begin to appear, but ignore them until you have destroyed all three purple pillars.
Then, after you’ve destroyed the three pillars, finish off the remaining enemies to make the Flame Phantom reappear and finish it off as well.
Completing the Phantom Challenge will give you access to the Legendary Chest containing the following treasures:
- Glowing Embers
- 2 Smouldering Embers
- Blazing Embers
- 1,000 Divine Ashes
- 20,000 Hacksilver
- Muspelheim’s Essence
Final Trial 5: Ring Of Fire Challenge (ᚺᚨ)
Complete any challenge at Sword 2 (Middle- ᚺ), then at Sword 1 (Left – ᚨ) to unlock the Ring Of Fire Challenge (ᚺᚨ) at the central golden sword.
For this GoW Ragnarok Final Challenge, you’ll have to defeat 15 enemies while staying inside the ring. Stepping outside the ring, you will take constant damage from the lava.
The ring will occasionally move around the arena, so it is a good idea to use ranged attacks to deal with the enemies outside the circle. Also, make sure to freeze the poison totem that the ring might take you toward.
After completing the Ring Of Fire Challenge, open the Legendary Chest to obtain the following rewards:
- Blazing Embers
- Smouldering Embers
- Glowing Embers
- 1,000 Divine Ashes
- 20,000 Hacksilver
- Surtr’s Scorched Arm
Final Trial 6: Onslaught Challenge (ᚺᚱ)
Complete any challenge at Sword 2 (Middle- ᚺ), then at Sword 3 (Left – ᚱ) to unlock the Onslaught Challenge (ᚺᚱ) at the central golden sword.
In this Final Challenge, you’ll have to survive for 300 seconds against endless waves of enemies inside a static ring, similar to the previous Ring Of Fire Challenge.
Stay inside the circle and deal with the enemies as you see fit while using ranged attacks when they are outside of the ring.
Don’t run for the enemies outside of the circle. If you see health crystals outside the ring, it is worth going for them because you’ll heal more than you take damage from the lava.
After you finish the Onslaught Challenge, open the Legendary Chest to obtain the following rewards:
- Smouldering Embers
- 2 Blazing Embers
- 3 Glowing Embers
- 1,000 Divine Ashes
- 20,000 Hacksilver
- Muspelheim’s Endurance
Finishing all 15 Mulpelheim Trials will complete The Final Challenges Favour and unlock the Trials By Fire Silver Trophy in God of War Ragnarok.
