Star Wars Jedi Survivor Derelict Dam Tar Pit Roller Mine Puzzle Guide

As you make your way through the Gorge Crash Site area of the Koboh Planet in Star Wars Jedi Survivor, you’ll eventually come across the Derelict Dam, an area with lots of collectibles, obstacles, and a few puzzles.

You’ll reach Derelict Dam for the first time while working on the Find Greez main objective. At first sight, it can be overwhelming, with so many blocked and hidden paths.

Also, you’ll notice that the area features, as the name suggests, a Derelict Dam filled with tar that you will have to cross and reach the wild creature.

As such, in the following guide, we will explain how to quickly solve the Derelict Dam Tar Pit Roller Mine Puzzle and continue Cal’s adventure in Star Wars Jedi Survivor.

Where To Find Derelict Dam Tar Pit Roller Mine Puzzle

As you can see on the map below, the Derelict Dam Tar Pit is located near the Meditation Point, close to the wild creature we previously marked with a beacon.

The main objective here is to find a way to reach the other side of the tar pit and approach the giant wild creature. Let’s see the solution to the Derelict Dam Puzzle.

How To Solve The Tar Pit Roller Mine Puzzle On Koboh

After you reach the Meditation Point in the Derelict Dam, follow the path leading toward the giant wild creature you’ve marked on the map to reach the Crumbling Dam Wall.

To progress further, jump on the first platform in the tar pit, then use the Ascension Cable by pressing / to pull yourself towards the vines on the left side and climb up.

At the top, deal with the two enemies and take the path down to reach a cave entrance guarded by a few more enemies.

Near the cave entrance, you can pick up one of the Databank entries available in the Derelict Dam.

Through the cave, climb the ledge ahead, deal with the few enemies, and go through the hole in the floor to reach one of the Derelict Dam Chests.

From the chest, keep going through the corridor until you see a red flashing terminal. Press /Down to command your BD-1 droid to interact with it.

After you interact with the terminal, the circle area will keep spawning Roller Mines, a droid that can chase you and explode on impact. We will use them to clear blockages and create new pathways.

Now, after you see a Roller Mine spawning, you can hold / to grab them using the Force and push them into objects by pressing /. Remember that you can hold it for a few seconds before it explodes.

Let’s start by destroying the nearby glowing wall by pushing a Roller Mine into it. Doing so will create an exit back to the Crumbling Wall Dam.

You’ll also notice that when a Roller Mine chases you, it’s marked by a laser with a different color.

Blue means the Roller Mine targets you, yellow means you are chased at a safe distance, and red means it will explode in a few seconds.

Make a Roller Mine follow you outside the cave, grab it by holding  / and throw it by pressing / into the glowing stalactites to clear them and create a small bridge to the edge of the dam.

Once again, make another Roller Mine follow you on the dam’s edge by using the freshly created bridge, grab it as before, and throw it into the Crumbling Wall Dam.

Doing so will raise the tar level in this pit, allowing you to cross on the other side using the platforms and meet the giant wild creature.
