Starfield Family Reunion is one of the radiant side missions available in the game, where you must find the lost relatives of the ECS Constant crew members and deliver a message to them.
Each time you embark on the Family Reunion mission, you’ll have to deliver a message to a different relative on a different planet.
Also, completing this radiant mission will quickly improve your Persuasion Skills by succeeding in Speech Challenges.
Read on if you want to learn more about the Starfield Family Reunion mission.
How To Start the Starfield Family Reunion Mission
The Family Reunion mission in Starfield is unlocked by buying the Grav Drive for the ECS Constant and convincing the colony to settle elsewhere in the First Contact mission.
A couple of in-game days after you complete the First Contact mission, you’ll see a new Activity that reads “Location of the ECS Constant”.
This activity allows you to track the location of the ECS Constant ship across the galaxy in its search for a new home.
Select the activity and set the course to reach the ECS Constant orbiting around a random planet. Get close enough and dock your ship.
If you hail the ship beforehand, you’ll learn from one of the ECS Constant members that they are struggling to find a new home due to the high expectations of Captain Brackenridge for the new planet.
Also, if you select the “Do you need any help with anything?” dialogue option, she will let you know that Janet needs some help with something and Abe might need some help from someone with a ship.
After you dock and board the ECS Constant ship, leave the Cargo Bay and head up the stairs.
Turn right at the top of the stairs and take the nearby elevator to the Residential Level.
Exit the lift, turn right, and follow the corridor until you reach the Records door at the end of it.
Head to the right on another corridor and look on the left side for the entrance to the Living Quarters 1.
In one of these dorms, find and speak with Abe Levitz to initiate the Family Reunion mission in Starfield.
How To Deliver the Message in Family Reunion Mission
During the conversation with Abe Levitz, he will ask you to find one of his crewmember’s relatives and deliver a message letting them know they’d like to meet them.
It is worth mentioning that the names of the relatives and their locations are all randomly generated.
This means you might get a different relative on a different planet to deliver the message.
During my playthrough, I had to deliver the message to Calista Maeda on the planet Titan in the Sol system.
Make your way to the planet of your relative and follow the quest marker to reach their location, then speak with them.
To make them believe that they have a distant relative in a 200-year-old colony, you must persuade them by selecting the “[Persuade] Turns out you have a relative you didn’t know about. I’m here to help connect you with them.“
You’ll have three turns at your disposal to earn 4 Persuasion Points and gain their trust.
The best approach is to select the green dialogue options since they have the highest chance of success. Also, having a few points in the Persuasion Skill wouldn’t hurt.
Even if you fail the persuasion, you can still finish the Family Reunion mission, but you’ll get no rewards except XP.
After you finish the conversation with the relative, make your way back to the ECS Constant and speak with Abe Levitz in his dorm.
Give him the good or bad news for his crewmate to finish the Family Reunion mission in Starfield. If you have successfully persuaded the relative, you’ll receive the following rewards:
- Antique Earth Baseball (2)
- Antique Earth Duck Figure
- Antique Piggy Bank
- 125 XP
Otherwise, you’ll only receive the 125 XP for your efforts. However, you can try again and deliver another message to a lost relative.
There are plenty of crew members who are looking for their relatives. An infinite amount, I would say.
However, if you want to take a break from finding lost relatives and embark on other quests, check out our Starfield Wiki Hub Page for a wide variety of missions.
