History of the Shattered is an Atlas Fallen fetch side quest available in the Caladrias Forbidden Lands western area, and it requires you to find five clues about the Keep where you’ll get to meet Lector.
Atlas Fallen History of the Shattered Keep is a tricky quest that can make you waste a lot of time due to the clues’ locations. Basically, the History of the Shattered Keep quest encourages exploration while emphasizing the game’s verticality and platforming gameplay elements.
Or, simply put, you’ll need to be a pretty good scout to find the five Atlas Fallen clues for Lector. As you are about to see, these clues come in various forms.
Furthermore, this side quest puts your platforming skills to the test. Don’t worry, though, because, in the following Atlas Fallen History of the Shattered Keep walkthrough, I’ll guide you from one Clue to another and explain where to find all five of them.
How To Start History of the Shattered Keep Quest in Atlas Fallen
History of the Shattered Keep becomes available on the western side of the Caladrias Forbidden Lands region after you find the three Enhanced Air Dash Shards required to cross the large ravine south of Castrum VII.
After you get the shards, head to the location on the map below and check the first floor of the Shattered Keep ruins for a female NPC named Lector.
After talking to Lector, she’ll tell you that there are many historical items to be found around the Keep. By finding them, she’ll learn more about the Knights that once inhabited the area.
So, the help Lector you must find five clues about the Keep within the search areas that appear on your map while tracking the quest.
Atlas Fallen History of the Shattered Keep Clues Locations Map
Since the search areas don’t provide too much information and because they are pretty big, on the following map, you can see the exact locations for all five clues about the Keep.
Now, following the same order as the one on the map above, let’s see where to find them in the game.
Shattered Keep Clue #1: On a Balcony Above Lector
The first Atlas Fallen Clue about the Keep on the map above is pretty easy to spot, as it sits on a balcony above Lector.
While facing the NPC, head left and climb the mountain wall to find it on the balcony in my following screenshot. Look for a golden book.
Shattered Keep Clue #2: On a Skeleton
The second Atlas Fallen Shattered Keep Clue is also easy to get because it’s on the ground in an open area.
Head to the location I marked for you on the map above (southwest of Lector) and look for a skeleton while remaining on the ground. Make sure you loot it because it carries a Rusty Knight’s Emblem, which counts as a clue.
Be advised that once you pick it up, you’ll get ambushed by a bunch of Wraiths.
Shattered Keep Clue #3: On Top of a Tower
For the third Clue about the Keep in Atlas Fallen, you’ll need to reach the top of a tower. Again check the map above, and when you get close to the location I have marked for you, you should be able to spot some wooden platforms around the tower.
Your objective is to find a way to reach them. The game offers many options here, so pick the one you see fit. When you get to the top, grab the golden journal.
Shattered Keep Clue #4: On a Lower Roof
The next Clue about the Keep is also a golden journal. From the previous location, head back to the ground and cross the area moving north.
Once you reach the fourth location on my map, start ascending the lower roofs and look for a large crack in the Keep’s wall. Next to it, you should be able to spot the quest item.
Shattered Keep Clue #5: Behind a Tower
Finally, for the last Atlas Fallen History of the Shattered Keep Clue, remain on the lower roofs, and cross the area again, moving south towards the fifth location on my map.
As you can see, the golden journal you are looking for is behind a tower near a vase. It’s relatively easy to see if you explore the area carefully.
Now that you got all clues about the Keep head back to Lector and return them in exchange for the Scout’s Armor. While not necessarily the best armor in the game, it is definitely better than your starting gear.
