Diablo 4 Chasing Embers is a pretty easy side-quest where you have to find signs of the Blackweald Company with the help of Torben.

Chasing Embers is part of the Claws at the Throat questline and one of the 47 Scosglen side-quests, which you’ll need to finish if you’re aiming for 100% completion in the region.

However, the quest features a large enough search area, and you might lose more time than you would want to search for the mercenaries.

Therefore, if you get stuck with D4 Chasing Embers side-quest, don’t hesitate to check our following walkthrough.

How To Start Chasing Embers Quest in Diablo 4

To be able to play the Chasing Embers side-quest, you must first reach Scosglen, the Act 2 region, by progressing with the main story.

Then, you must complete the previous quests in the questline: Claws at the Throat and Pyre of Ash.

Finally, you need to meet Torben in the Under the Fat Goose Inn, which is located on the west side of the Highland Wilds area.

You have the exact location on the next D4 map.

After getting to the Inn, talk to Torben to see how you can eliminate Blackweald Company.

However, you first need to find the mercenaries, so let’s see how to continue.

Where To Find the Blackweald Company in Diablo 4

Torben thinks that the pyres left behind by the mercenaries prove they are still drawn to demon’s work, and the Scar to the east of the Inn marks where Astaroth fell to heroes.

Thus, it’s a safe bet that you can find them somewhere in that cursed place.

The Scar is located on the east side of Highland Wilds, and you can see the search area if you open your map after talking to Torben and starting the quest.

To continue, you must carefully explore the search area to find any signs of the mercenaries.

If you want to finish the quest as fast as possible, check the map below, where we’ve marked the exact spot you must get to.

Look for Blackweald Company in The Scar on the east side of the Highland Wilds area

Once you get there, you should see some burnt debris on the edge of a cliff, as you can see in the following screenshot.

Interact with the burnt debris on the edge of a cliff

Now interact with the burnt debris to reveal a Pyre Victim you can talk to.

The Pyre Victim will tell you how a mercenary woman captured him and others along the roads, then took them into the depths of the Scar.

There the mercenaries made the victims watch as they burned them one by one.

Torben is concerned about the news because Stana, the mercenary woman, is very dangerous and mad.

Excellent job, friend! Diablo 4 Chasing Embers quest comes to an end, and you get XP, Gold, Renown points, and a Cache. However, it’s time to face Stana herself in The Bear of Blackweald side-quest.
