Village Project: A Mountain Man’s Stall is a friendship quest you get in Disney Dreamlight Valley from Kristoff.
The quest is quite long if you don’t have the materials needed to complete it, but at least you’ll get 1670 XP once you do.
You’ll also end up with a new Stall in the Valley from where you can buy the following:
- Softwood
- Stone
- Sand
So, if you want to know where to look for the materials needed and speed the gathering process as much as possible, be sure to check the Village Project A Mountain Man’s Stall walkthrough below.
How To Start A Mountain Man’s Stall In Disney Dreamlight Valley
There will be 2 requirements if you want to start Mountain Man’s Stall, and those are to reach Friendship Level 6 with Kristoff and, of course, finish the previous quest from the NPC, named Leaving The Woods Behind (discussed here).
You can always check the Friendship Guide here if you have problems reaching the required level for Kristoff.
Upon dealing with the 2 requirements, talk to Kristoff and start his second friendship quest in the video game developed by Gameloft. Check your map to locate the NPC easier.
Where To Find Softwood
The first material you need to make Kristoff’s Stall is Softwood, and you need 50 pieces.
Luckily Softwood can be found everywhere, but you should focus on the Plaza and Peaceful Meadow areas because here you’ll find the most, and you should gather enough in no time.
There is a good chance you have some Softwood already, so check your backpack and storage.
Where To Find Stone
The second material needed for the Village Project is Stone, and you should start by checking if you don’t have some already, just like with the Softwood.
The crafting material can be found everywhere, and to gather it, first equip your Pickaxe with the RT button on your Xbox controller, then start mining.
Look for all the Rocks in the Valley, the black ones and the grey ones, as shown in the next image.
You can move to the next material after you’ve gathered 50 Stone.
Where To Find Hardwood
The Hardwood, which is the third material you need for the mountain man’s Stall, is the hardest to procure, and I suggest you wait until you’ve unlocked more areas.
You can find Hardwood in the following areas:
- Forgotten Lands
- Frosted Heights
- Sunlit Plateau
- Glade of Trust
- Forest of Valor
So if you don’t want to spend several hours in Disney Dreamlight Valley gathering the Hardwood, wait until you unlock at least 2 or 3 areas from the list above.
Hardwood looks a lot like Softwood but in a reddish-brown color, just like in the following screenshot.
You need 35 pieces of the crafting material, and you can move to the next.
How To Gather Iron Ingots
To gather the 10 Iron Ingots needed for Kristoff, you must first find 50 Iron Ore and 10 Coal Ore because you have to craft the Ingots with these materials.
You can find Coal Ore everywhere by mining the black rock deposits from the mountain walls.
However, Iron Ore can be found by mining black rock deposits, but from the following areas only:
- Forest of Valor
- Glade of Trust
- Sunlit Plateau
- Frosted Heights
- Forgotten Land
Considering the deposits respawn relatively fast, it shouldn’t take too long, especially if you have at least 2 areas from the list above unlocked.
Once you have 50 Iron Ore and 10 Coal Ore, go to a Crafting Station, interact with it, select the Iron Ingot under the Refined Material tab, and craft 10 Disney Dreamlight Valley Iron Ingots by pressing the Make button.
How To Craft And Place Kristoff’s Stall
Now that you have all the materials you need to craft the mountain man’s Stall, interact with a Crafting Station again, go to the Furniture tab, select Kristoff’s Stall and press the Make button.
Then place the Stall outside by going to your inventory with the Y button, selecting the Furniture tab, then Kristoff’s icon under requests, and finally, the Stall.
Position the structure so that the ground under it’s highlighted green.
All that remains is to speak with Kristoff to complete the Disney Dreamlight Valley Village Project: A Mountain Man’s Stall friendship quest. Now jump to A Broken Sled, which is another quest from Kristoff, and completing it will upgrade his Stall (check this guide for assistance).
