Disney Dreamlight Valley A Broken Sled: How To Gather The Materials For The Repairs

Kristoff’s friendship quest, named Broken Sled, grants a big boost of experience in Disney Dreamlight Valley and a cool-looking Furniture item.

To get the 2330 XP and the piece of Furniture, you have to help Kristoff fix his sled after he ran it into a deep drift.

You’ll need a lot of repairing materials that can be hard to get if you haven’t stocked up until now.

So, we will provide instructions and screenshots in the guide below that will help complete all the quest objectives in the video game developed by Gameloft.

How To Start Broken Sled In Disney Dreamlight Valley

The first thing you need to concern yourself about unlocking the quest is to complete Village Project: A Mountain Man’s Stall, which is covered in our walkthrough here.

Then focus on the following:

• Reach Friendship Level 10 with Kristoff
• Unlock Glade of Trust Biome
• Unlock Frosted Heights Biome

This means you will need quite a lot of Dreamlight; the exact amount depends on when you unlock the areas.

When you’re ready, find Kristoff with the help of the in-game map and start the quest.

Where To Find Kristoff’s Book

Kristoff tells you about his unfortunate sled accident, and you agree to help him, so follow the NPC to the place where it all happened.

It seems the sled is stuck in a block of ice that you can break with your Pickaxe.

Select the tool with the RT button on your Xbox controller and get rid of the ice to retrieve the sled.

Bring the broken sled to Kristoff, who will not be happy seeing it like this.

You agree to fix the sled for Kristoff because you’re a good friend.

So first you’ll have to go to his house and get a book called Ice-cident: How to Fix Your Sled, funny name, right?

Kristoff’s house is located on the east side of the Forest of Valor area, as shown on the following map.

Make your way to the house, and once inside, go to the left side to find the book on a table.

There are many books, but you need the one that has brown covers, just like in the next screenshot.

How To Get Fiber

With the book in your possession, you now have to concern yourself with gathering the materials required for the repairs:

• 50 Fiber
• 30 Hardwood
• 10 Iron Ingot
• 9 Tinkering Parts

If you are lucky, you might already have some of the materials in your inventory and storage, so don’t forget to check.

You first have to get 10 Seaweeds with which you can craft the 50 Fibers.

The Seaweed can be fished in any water source, so head to a pond or something. You should also check our Fishing Guide here to learn the process better.

When you reach the water, avoid the ripples while aiming your fishing line because you’re not trying to get fish.

You’ll still catch fish from time to time, but mostly you should get Seaweed.

Once you have the 10 Seaweeds, go to a Disney Dreamlight Valley Crafting Station and make the 50 Fibers from the Refined Material tab.

Where To Find Hardwood

The second material you must gather to fix the broken sled is Hardwood, and you need plenty of it.

Hardwood looks like reddish-brown branches you can find on the ground in the following areas:

• Forgotten Lands
• Frosted Heights
• Sunlit Plateau
• Glade of Trust
• Forest of Valor

Unlock as many Biomes as you can from the list above to gather the 30 Hardwood quickly.

How To Get Iron Ingot

Next, you’ll need 10 Iron Ingots, which can be crafted using 50 Iron Ore and 10 Coal Ore.

You can get both Iron Ore and Coal Ore from the same source, the black rock deposits on the mountain walls in the Valley.

However, Iron Ore can be found mining only the deposits in the following Biomes:

• Forest of Valor
• Glade of Trust
• Sunlit Plateau
• Frosted Heights
• Forgotten Lands

The biggest drop chance for Iron Ore is in the Glade of Trust area, so don’t skip it.

After getting enough Iron Ore and Coal Ore, go to a Crafting Station and make the 10 Iron Ingots from the Refined Material tab.

How To Get Tinkering Parts

The last materials needed for the reparation of the broken sled are the 9 Tinkering Parts which can be crafted using Iron Ingots.

You’ll need 6 Iron Ingots to craft 9 Tinkering Parts, so this means an additional 30 Iron Ore and 6 Coal Oare.

You can make the Disney Dreamlight Valley Tinkering Parts in the Refined Material tab at any Crafting Station.

How To Repair The Sled

Now that you have all the materials needed go to a Crafting Station and craft Kristoff’s Sled in the Furniture tab.

Then bring the Sled to Kristoff and see what he has to say. I’ll give you a hint: you are not done yet.

How To Get Samples Of Materials

Kristoff now wants you to bring him samples of some refined materials because he wants to upgrade the Stall you’ve helped him build in the A Mountain Man’s Stall quest.

You’ll need the following materials:

• 1 Fiber
• 1 Brick
• 1 Glass
• 1 Iron Ingot

You already know how to get Fiber and Iron Ingot, so let’s deal with the rest of them.

The Brick and Glass can be crafted at any Crafting Station in the Refined Material tab, provided you have the necessary resources.

One Brick requires:

• 5 Clay
• 1 Coal Ore

To get Clay, go to the Glade of Trust area, equip the Shovel (press RT), and start digging. You have a chance to get Clay with each hole you dig, but you may also want to follow these tips to farm it.

You know how to get Coal Ore, and you already have enough probably, so I’m not going to waste your time with it.

One Glass requires:

• 5 Sand
• 1 Coal Ore

You get Sand following the same process as you did with the Clay, but instead of going to Glade of Trust, you go to Dazzle Beach.

All you have to do now is bring the samples of the refined materials to Kristoff, completing the Disney Dreamlight Valley Broken Sled quest.
