Disney Dreamlight Valley Scrooge McDuck’s Grand Re-Opening: How To Craft Softwood Signs

In the Disney Dreamlight Valley Scrooge McDuck’s Grand Re-Opening quest, you get to help McDuck advertise his store, which seems to be lacking customers.

You’ll not do the quest without being rewarded, even though you’re dealing with Scrooge McDuck. You’ll get 2 furniture items: a wall sign and a very useful crafting station.

How To Start Scrooge McDuck’s Grand Re-Opening In Disney Dreamlight Valley

To start Scrooge McDuck’s Grand Re-Opening, you first have to complete the first quest you get from McDuck, named Making Cents Of Things (covered in this guide).

You must talk to McDuck after that, who is probably in his store in the middle of the Plaza, and see what tasks the NPC has prepared for you this time.

You can look for Scrooge McDuck on your map if you can’t find him.

How To Put On The Scrooge’s Store Promotional T-shirt

To advertise the store, McDuck asks you to wear a promotional t-shirt that he will provide.

So, after talking to him, open your inventory by pressing Y on Xbox and then select the wardrobe tab.

Now equip Scrooge McDuck’s Store Top by pressing A after selecting it.

Go to the stingy NPC to show him that you are wearing the t-shirt.

Where To Find Softwood

The next task in Scrooge McDuck’s Grand Re-Opening is to gather some softwood because you need to build some signs for the shop.

To see where you can find the softwood, press the menu button, go to Collection, and then to Foraging.

Now search for the softwood in the list to see the places where you can find the crafting material.

As you can see in the image above, the softwood can be found in the Plaza, among many other places.

So, go and gather 12 pieces of the crafting material if you don’t already have them. Look for the softwood directly on the ground.

Check also your house’s storage because you may have put some softwood there and forgotten, just like me. Don’t tell Scrooge about your lack of organization, or you’ll get him started with the lectures.

How To Craft The Signs For Scrooge’s Store

Upon gathering the necessary softwood go to Scrooge and speak with him to find out that the next step in Disney Dreamlight Valley Scrooge McDuck’s Grand Re-Opening is to craft 4 signs for the shop.

To craft the signs, you must use the Crafting Station in McDuck’s store, to the right of the vault.

Approach the station, interact with it and select the Furniture tab. Then choose Scrooge McDuck’s Store Sign and make 4 of them.

How To Place Scrooge’s Store Signs Around The Village

Now you have to place the signs around the village so get out of the store.

To place the first sign, go near the spot you want it on and press Y (Xbox). Select Furniture, then the top icon, the one with Scrooge McDuck (under requests), and finally, pick the sign.

Position the sign so that the ground under it is highlighted green, as shown in the next screenshot.

You have to repeat the process another 3 times and try not to put the signs too close to each other.

Where To Find Dandelion And Purple Rising Penstemon Flowers

After finishing with the signs, you have to talk to Scrooge again. I know he is annoying, but you’re almost done.

So the next step in Scrooge McDuck’s Grand Re-Opening quest of Disney Dreamlight Valley is to find 2 Dandelions and 2 Purple Rising Penstemon flowers.

You can use the same process as you did with the softwood earlier, so enter the menu, select Collection, and then Foraging.

Look for the Dandelion and the Purple Rising Penstemon in the flowers section to see where you can find them.

So look for the Dandelion, which is yellow in the Plaza, and the Purple Rising Penstemon, which is obviously purple, in the Peaceful Meadow.

A good strategy is to pick up all the flowers in the two areas, and if you haven’t finished your task, wait for them to respawn, which shouldn’t take too much time.

Also, you might already have the flowers from before you started the quest, so check your inventory and the storage in your house.

How To Craft Dandelion And Rising Penstemon Pots

Now that you have the flowers, you have to craft some pots with them that you have to put in front of the shop.

So go to the Crafting Station in McDuck’s store one more time to craft the Dandelion and Rising Penstemon Pots from the Furniture section. You’ll have to craft exactly two.

How To Place The Dandelion And Rising Penstemon Pots Near Scrooge’s Store

Go outside the shop after you have the pots and place them in close vicinity.

Use the same process as you did with the Store Signs from before.

So, enter the menu, go to Furniture, then select Scrooge’s icon under requests at the top, and finally, pick the Dandelion and Rising Penstemon pot.

Place them close to the shop, as I did in the image above, and you should be golden.

You can now go and talk to Scrooge to get your very own Crafting Station that you can place in your house.
