While working on the Find Greez main objective in Star Wars Jedi Survivor, you’ll reach the Derelict Dam, the second area on the Koboh Planet, with many treasures and puzzles.
Locating the five Derelict Dam Essences can prove to be quite difficult as the area contains numerous paths, some of which are obstructed due to a lack of specific abilities and upgrades.
If this is your first visit to Derelict Dam, it is worth mentioning that you’ll be able to collect only three out of the five Essence collectibles.
To reach the remaining two, you must come back later in the story after obtaining the necessary abilities.
If you’re interested in discovering the locations of all the Derelict Dam Essences, simply follow our step-by-step Star Wars Jedi Survivor guide.
Koboh Derelict Dam Essences Locations Map
We have created a custom map that displays the locations of the five Derelict Dam Essences in chronological order.
This means you can pick up the first three Derelict Dam Essences during your first visit here, and for #4 and #5, you’ll have to return later into the story.
If you need help navigating the Derelict Dam to reach the designated locations, please refer to the instructions provided below.
Essence #1 (Health Essence): In A Gorocco Nest
After you leave the Gorge Crash Site area and reach the Derelict Dam Meditation Point, take the path to the left across the broken metal plank bridge, jump over the gap, and deal with the giant creature known as Gorocco.
After you deal with him, open the orange hatch by pressing / to enter his nest.
Inside the Gorocco nest, you’ll find one of the Derelict Dam Databank entries and the first Essence collectible, which will increase your maximum health.
Essence #2 (Skill Point): Above A Chasm With Giant Bones
Return to the Derelict Dam Meditation Point and look down the edge. Drop down the ledge and climb the vines to the bottom, where you can find another Databank entry.
Now, get to the other side of this swamp, where you will find a rope hanging above a chasm with some giant bones at the bottom.
Press / to pull the rope, swing on the ridged wall, then run and Jedi Flip on it until you reach the upper ledge, where you will find the second Derelict Dam Essence collectible containing a Skill Point.
Essence #3 (Force Essence): Near An Elevator
For the third Essence collectible in Derelict Dam, you’ll have to progress through the area until you unlock the Roller Mine spawn point. It is recommended to follow our Derelict Dam Roller Mine Puzzle guide first.
After unlocking the Roller Mine spawn point, make a Roller Mine follow you up the path with the giant gear, get close to the ledge, pick up the mine by holding /, and throw it into the glowing blockage ahead by pressing /.
For a visual reference, check the image below.
Jump down and follow the path ahead while dealing with the annoying creatures along the way.
Before climbing the rope, you can scan the ancient bones for a Derelict Dam Databank entry.
At the top, watch out for the Roller Mines spawning from the ground near another Databank entry.
Head across the stone bridge and collect the third Derelict Dam Essence collectible, which will increase your maximum force.
Essence #4 (Skill Point): Above The Floating Balloons
For the fourth Derelict Dam Essence collectible, you’ll need the Lift and Slam Ability and the upgraded version of the Ascension Cable, which can be obtained later in the game during the second visit to Shattered Moon.
This means you can’t pick up this Essence collectible if this is your first visit to Derelict Dam.
After you unlock both of them, open the yellow gate near the previous Essence collectible by pressing R1+triangle/R1+Y and prepare for the boss fight against Gorocco Matriarch.
Once you take him down, you can unlock one of the Derelict Dam Chests, increasing your max stims capacity.
Press / to grapple onto the floating balloons on the opposite side of the collectible Chest, then climb the vines to the top.
You can locate here the fourth Derelict Dam Essence collectible that contains a Skill Point.
There is also one of the Derelict Dam Treasure collectibles in the same area.
Essence #5 (Perk Slot): After Solving Derelict Dam Orb Puzzle
For the final Essence collectible, you’ll need the Koboh Grinder upgrade for BD-1, Dash Ability, and Lift and Slam Ability.
After you unlock all of them, fast-travel to the Meditation Point, get to the Dam, cross the two platforms, and climb the vines ahead.
On the left side is a pillar with a platform that you can lower down using the Slam Ability (R1+triangle/R1+Y).
Climb up and clear the area of enemies. Go past all these metal cages and look for an alcove in the corner of this area containing an Orb in its socket.
Pick up the Orb by holding / and throw it on the platform. It’s recommended to aim into that machine, like in the image below, to prevent it from rolling away.
Then, quickly get on the platform, pick up the Orb again, and place it into the Coupler, the laser machine.
Enter through the cave entrance cleared by the laser to find a Roller Mine spawn point, but a bit different.
Each time you want to spawn a Roller Mine, you’ll have to press /Down for BD-1 to slice the terminal.
To the right of this cave entrance, there is a glowing breakable wall. Spawn a Roller Mine and quickly climb back up the ledge.
Pick up the Roller Mine by holding / then quickly let it go and run towards the glowing breakable wall before the mine explodes.
Once in front of the glowing wall, pick up the Roller Mine and throw it into the wall by pressing / to create another entrance into the same cave.
Go through this newly created entrance, press /Down to enter BD-1 Visor, and spray Koboh matter from the laser beam to the dark bramble above.
Run along the two hanging walls and climb up the metal grid, then exit the cave to locate the final Derelict Dam Essence collectible in Star Wars Jedi Survivor outside on a broken roof.
