Disney Dreamlight Valley The Making Of A Monarch: How To Make Teriyaki Salmon And Snow White’s Gooseberry Pie

The Making Of A Monarch is Scar’s last quest in the Early Access version of Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Completing the friendship quest will reward you with 1790 XP and a Volcanic Stove, which is a furniture item.

But these rewards will not be easy to obtain because Scar’s friendship quest requires you to complete all sorts of tasks that may cause you problems.

No worries, though, because if you follow our Making Of A Monarch walkthrough below, you’ll complete every single objective easily.

How To Start Making Of A Monarch In Disney Dreamlight Valley

Considering that this is Scar’s final quest, you’ll need to reach Friendship Level 10 with the lion.

I know level 10 is the hardest to reach, but if you check our Friendship Level Up guide here, you should have a less complicated time.

You also have to unlock the Forgotten Lands Biome, for which you need a whooping 15.000 Dreamlight.

So start completing tasks from the Dreamlight tab of the game’s menu as soon as possible.

And you obviously must complete the previous quest from Scar, named The Circle Of Life (covered in this guide).

After you’ve managed to meet these requirements, talk to Scar to begin the Making Of A Monarch quest.

How To Make Teriyaki Salmon

Oddly enough, Scar wants to share a meal with you and gives you two Recipes.

You have to cook the meals and bring them to his cave. The Recipes are for:

• Teriyaki Salmon
• Snow White’s Gooseberry Pie

You should open your inventory by pressing Y on your Xbox controller and learn the 2 Recipes.

Let’s start by gathering the ingredients for the Teriyaki Salmon, which are the following:

• Salmon
• Sugarcane
• Rice
• Ginger
• Soya

Salmon can be fished from the spots with white ripples in the water sources from the Frosted Heights and Sunlit Plateau areas.

You can grow Sugarcane yourself after buying Seeds from Goofy’s Stall in Dazzle Beach (they take 7 minutes to grow), and if you are lucky, Goofy may have Sugarcane for sale directly.

Rice can be grown if you buy Seeds from Goofy’s Stall in Glade of Trust (you need to wait 50 minutes for the Seeds to grow); Goofy can also have Rice for sale directly.

For the Ginger, you’ll have to go to the Forgotten Lands Biome, look for the small green leaves coming out of the ground, and harvest them.

Finally, Soya Seeds can be found at Goofy’s Stall in Sunlit Plateau, and they take 1 hour and 30 minutes to grow; if Goofy has Soya for sale directly, you should buy it not to waste time.

Once you’ve gathered the ingredients go to a Cooking Station and interact with it; then press Y to open the Recipes list, choose the Disney Dreamlight Valley Teriyaki Salmon, and prepare it.

How To Make Snow White’s Gooseberry Pie

Now you should focus on gathering the ingredients for the Snow White’s Gooseberry Pie:

• Butter
• Wheat
• Gooseberry

Butter can be bought from Remy’s pantry in his restaurant in the northeastern corner of the Plaza area.

The Wheat you’ll have to grow yourself after you get Seeds from Goofy’s Stall in Peaceful Meadow (the Seeds take only 1 minute to grow).

You can find Gooseberrys in the green bushes with red fruits in the Frosted Heights and Forgotten Lands areas.

Now go with the 3 ingredients to a Stove and prepare the Disney Dreamlight Valley Snow White’s Gooseberry Pie.

How To Get Dark Wood And Softwood

The next step in the Making Of A Monarch quest is to take the 2 meals to Scar’s cave in the Sunlit Plateau Biome.

The cave is located in the northeastern corner of the area, in the huge mammoth skull.

Then talk to Scar to find out he had an ulterior motive for his dinner invitation, and that is to recover a trinket you forgot that you took from him.

Since you want Scar to recover his trinket, you have to ask Merlin for help, who suggests you lead by example and teach Scar to care for everyone.

So, the next step is to build 2 Sunbird Feeders, for which you need the following materials:

• 40 Softwood
• 10 Dark Wood
• 6 Red Bromeliads
• 6 Pink Houseleeks
• 20 Cotton

You probably already have enough Softwood, as it becomes available right after you start the game.

If not, look for the small light brown branches on the ground in every Biome except Dazzle Beach.

However, the Dark Wood is much rarer because you can only find it in the Forgotten Lands area.

Look for the small black branches on the ground in the said area, as shown in the following image, where you have Dark Wood on the right side and Softwood on the left.

New branches spawn over time, so come back later if you haven’t found enough.

Where To Find Red Bromeliad And Pink Houseleek

It’s time to gather the 6 Red Bromeliads and 6 Pink Houseleeks, which are flowers that grow in the Sunlit Plateau area.

Red Bromeliads are small and have red flowers; Pink Houseleeks are tall and have pink flowers. You have examples in the next screenshot.

My suggestion is to pick up all the flowers in the Sunlit Plateau area and come back later after new ones spawn.

How To Get Cotton

To make the Sunbird Feeders required for the Making Of A Monarch quest, you still need Cotton.

So, go to Goofy’s Stall in Sunlit Plateau because you can buy Cotton Seeds from here.

Then plant at least 20 Seeds, water them and wait 25 minutes for them to grow.

How To Place The Sunbird Feeders Near The Pond On The Sunlit Plateau

Now that you have the required materials to build the 2 Sunbird Feeders, go to a Crafting Station and make them from the Furniture tab.

Then head to the only pond in the Sunlit Plateau area, located on the west side, and place the Feeders. If necessary, use the in-game map for assistance in locating the pond.

To place the furniture items, you have to press Y, go to the Furniture tab, then to Scar’s icon under requests, and finally, select the Sunbird Feeder.

You have to place the Feeders close to the pond, just like in the next image, and, at the same time, make sure that the ground under the furniture is highlighted green.

How To Feed Flowers To The Sunbirds On The Plateau

The next objective is to pay another visit to Scar and take him with you to feed 2 Sunbirds in the Sunlit Plateau Biome.

All you need to do is to have 2 Flowers in your backpack and approach 2 different Sunbirds to feed them.

After lunchtime is over, make your way to Scar’s den again and talk to the lion.

While you have your little discussion, the trinket Scar is looking for should magically appear in the middle of the cave.

So pick up the item and bring it to Scar to complete the Disney Dreamlight Valley Making Of A Monarch quest. Congratulations, Villager!
