God of War Ragnarok Viking’s Gift Treasure Map is required to find one of the two Midgard Buried Treasures and counts as a collectible that will help you get 100% completion in Midgard.

Unlike the previous Midgard Buried Treasure Map (Demise Of The Dagestr), the God of War Ragnarok Viking’s Gift Map doesn’t require too much traveling and can be obtained early in the game after you unlock Midgard and the Lake of Nine area.

Nevertheless, if you start collecting Treasure Maps without solving the associated puzzles, you’ll eventually get overwhelmed by them.

To avoid this, the moment you find a God of War Ragnarok Map, it’s best to go after the Buried Treasure.

So, in case you need help, throughout the following guide, we’ll tell you where to find the Viking’s Gift Map and the GoW Ragnarok Viking Gift Treasure location.

Where To Find The Viking’s Gift Treasure Map

The Viking’s Gift Treasure Map in the latest God of War video game is found inside the Raider Fort, a small encampment in the area known as Lake of Nine region covered here.

To get it, first progress through the story until you unlock Midgard and the Lake of Nine. Once you do that, travel to the Lake of Nine Mystic Gateway and look around to spot some black smoke coming from a camp.

It should be southwest of the Lake of Nine Mystic Gateway.

Head to the camp and look for a ledge with red paint. Climb on it and deal with the Kol Raiders.

After defeating them, you’ll automatically trigger the Animal Instincts Favour we covered here.

While in the camp, if you look on the ground, you’ll see a glowing item (pictured below). It is one of the 80 Lore in God of War Ragnarok and the Viking’s Gift Treasure Map.

Pick up the map to start the Viking’s Gift Treasure Hunt, open the Menu, navigate to Goals, and then to Treasure Maps. Select the Viking’s Gift to read the following letter:

My dearest Brynjolf,

As a warrior’s time in Midgard draws to an end, and their journey to Valhalla begins, one often finds their final breaths take near prized possessions. I know robbing the dead always puts you in a moral quandary, but has it occurred to you that their new possessions in the afterlife must surely be so opulent that they will not miss the old? Food for thought…

Your Beloved…

Next to the letter to Brynjolf, you can also notice an image showing the large doors leading into a temple. This image can be pretty confusing. So let’s see where to find the treasure.

God of War Ragnarok Viking’s Gift Buried Treasure Location

The God of War Ragnarok Viking’s Gift Buried Treasure is best approached while working on the Animals Instincts Favour because the digging spot is found close to one of the Kol Raider Camps you have to clear.

Specifically, you’ll find the Buried Treasure on the right side of the entrance to the Raider Hideout.

Assuming you don’t want to follow the said Side-Quest, from where you have found the map, take the sled and head east on your map until you reach the hill toward the King’s Grave and The Eternal Campfire.

However, instead of following the path up the hill, follow the one on the right close to the southern mountain wall. Eventually, you’ll reach a dead end, and on the right side, you’ll spot the glowing Viking’s Gift Treasure digging spot.
