God of War Ragnarok Vulture’s Gold is one of the first Treasure Maps you’ll be able to find while following the story, and it leads to the first Buried Treasure in the video game developed by Santa Monica Studio for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

The God of War Ragnarok Vulture’s Gold Treasure Map is relatively easy to find; however, deciphering it can be problematic if you don’t know where to search for the Buried Treasure.

Luckily, the Vulture’s Gold Treasure is very close to the location where you can find the map, and throughout the following guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about it.

Where To Find The Vulture’s Gold Treasure Map

The Vulture’s Gold Treasure Map is found in the area known as The Canyons and can be retrieved immediately after you complete the Main Quest named Groa’s Secret.

At the end of the quest, you’ll return to The Strond Mystic Gateway and see Tyr leaving.

When this happens, you’ll also notice an Elf being pinned to the wall on the right side by a spear. Eventually, the spear will demolish the wall, revealing a secret passage that leads to a new area named The Canyons.

In The Canyons, you can find three collectibles, as we have explained here. Two of them are Lore, and one of these Lores is the Vulture’s Gold Treasure Map.

The God of War Ragnarok Vulture’s Gold Map is the first collectible you can find in The Canyons, several steps away down the path behind the collapsed wall.

It’s sitting by the main path you need to follow, and it’s impossible to miss, as you can see.

Pick up the map, open the menu and navigate to the Goals tab. Next, select the Treasure Maps tab and the Vulture’s Gold to see the following riddle or poem if you like:

In search of peace

The beast finds only war

Its last breath of life atop the sands

Its last meal of gold beneath the bones

Next to the riddle, you can also notice an image depicting the skeleton of a giant beast—specifically its mouth.

Great, so let’s see where to find the Vulture’s Gold Buried Treasure.

The first thing you’ll want to do next is to explore The Canyons region in Alfheim and find all collectibles outlined here.

Once you reach the other side, you’ll find one of Sindri’s Shops. Make sure you activate the Gateway next to it.

The Vulture’s Gold Buried Treasure is in The Barrens area you can access via the path northeast, but the problem is that there is a sandstorm that makes exploration quite difficult.

Therefore, you’ll want to complete the Secret Of The Sands Favour first. Besides the fact that it’s one of the 47 Side-Quests in the game, it will help you remove the sandstorm in The Barrens region of Alfheim.

To start the Favor, talk to Sindri, and after you finish it, you’ll be able to explore The Barrens.

The moment you complete the Secret Of The Sands Side-Quest, open your map and head north towards the large skeleton marked on the map below.

As you get close, you’ll notice the skeleton of a beast that looks just like the one from the Vulture’s Gold Treasure Map.

Now, look around, and close to its mouth, you can see a climbing spot.

Get inside the beast’s mouth, and you’ll notice a glowing digging spot on the ground. This is where you’ll find the Vulture’s Gold Treasure in God of War Ragnarok.

Finally, approach the dig spot and interact with it to obtain the following:

  • 10 Shattered Runes
  • 1 Stonewood
  • 1 Dwarven Steel
  • 1 Honed Metal
  • Lethal Detonation Accessory
  • 50 Kratos XP

And that’s it! You just finished the God of War Ragnarok Vulture’s Gold Treasure Map goal, but keep in mind that there are more waiting for you, so check our Wiki Hub if you need help with them.

Last but not least, The Barrens Buried Treasure is only one of the objectives required for reaching 100% completion in this area.
